Windows PDC and Samba PDC
In our company we have two separated domains, I mean, there's not trust
relationship at all.
I can see the windows 2000 domain in the browse list but not the computers
that belong to that domain.
How should I set up my samba server or the windows client to fix the small
problem???

a better smbstatus for monitoring samba ?
Hello,
does anyone know if there is a tool in existence that can monitor samba shares like smbstatus
but is much more advanced (and runs in console) , I mean a tool that has menues, some search
options, and things sorted out nice. A Samba realtime monitor would be the best thing with lots
of details and lots of options.
I tried Swat, but that aint really a solution to watch who is connected

Another domain browse problem
Hi.
We have two networks, one on Windows 2000 and another in SAMBA.
I can browse the windows domain but they can't. They don't even see the
domain.
My smb.conf includes
Domain master = Yes
Preferred master = Yes
Domain logons = Yes
Does windows domain need to have a well working dns server?
Cheers,
Rafael

password change, domain not available
Dear Herman,
We had the same problems over here.
The problem seems to be related to Windows Hotfix KB828741.
Removing the hotfix through the control panel solved it for us.

Quota question
I am having problems with quotas on a RH8 server. I have compiled samba
with the --with-quotas and --with-sys-quotas. If I leave the default kernel
on rh8, which is 2.4.18-4, and set the user's quota, eg 10MB, the capacity
is shown as 10MB. I compiled the newest kernel with the quota options:
CONFIG_QUOTA=y
CONFIG_QFMT_V2=y
The quotas still work, however the disk size reported as the

smbd pids
just noticed the following problem..
after running samba 302rc1(as pdc) for a few day's.
old SMBD pid's are left in the procces tree..
eating memory and cpu time, causing linux to overload and not function
annymore.
after stopping samba, the smbd pid's will stay.
stopping samba the 2nd time will do the trick, they finaly disapear...
so you have to stop samba twice.. ??
don't

your picture as there was no fan and a narrower distance between each
PCB card. There were many more cables. For a total cost of less than
