Samba 3.0 VFS recycle
I'm trying to set up the recycler module in 3.0.7, but no
matter what I do Samba seems to ignore it, even though
testparm shows no errors.
It's VERY difficult to tell from the HOWTO what exactly
you're supposed to put in smb.conf, so I'm making stabs
in the dark. I'm frustrated too, so sorry if some of
this comes out wrong.
I've tried tacking these on to a test share

Problems with VFS Recycle on SLES9
Hi list,
I have running samba 3.0.9 on a SuSE Enterprise-Server 9 with Kernel 2.6.5. Samba works
very well but In have one problem while using the recycle vfs with samba:
when I save a file (with wordpad or editor ...) to the network-share, a 0 byte-file will
automaticly be saved to the trash-folder.
After removing the file from the network-share, the real file (>0 byte) will be stored

AD Member Server and 'vfs objects recycle' permission problems
Hi,
on our samba 4 domain member server we use the vfs objects module
'recycle'.
Unfortunately we ran into a strange permission problem with deleted
folders.
The newly created folders in the recycle folder have the wrong
permission. The deleted file(s) itself has the correct group (rw)
permissions.
The shares correct permissions:

# file: Papierkorb/
# owner: root

Samba4: Strange Behaveiour On Home share with 2 DC replicating /vfs glusterfs
There is a strange behaviour having two DCs joined in one Domain concerning
the [home] share.
The [home] is fixed on a replicating gluster volume on both DC.
Now creating the users directory with ADUC ex.: \\s4master\home\%username%
would do the necessary and the directory is created on both dcs. On the
first DC all working fine
without any issue but on the second the user cannot login their home

WG: After Upgrade to Samba-4.3.4
What I have done bevor updating to 4.3.4 and it was working until then.
I userd the map unix tab in ADUC and gave uid and gid to all users /groups but administrator.
This worked until the update. Now the dcs mix up only!!! group ids with computer ids (security tab)

exclude_dir option for VFS recycle module
Hello all,
I am testing the VFS recycle module, and have a question.
The module is working the way I hoped with the exception of the
exclude_dir option. I have an entry like:
exclude_dir = dir1 -- files I place in dir1 are not sent to the recycle
location. However, if I have a folder beneath dir1 like dir1/dir2, files
in dir2 get sent to the recycle location. I've tried using wildcards in

vfs objects recycle can not exclude profile directory
Hello everyone. I have tested this in my testing env. there's no this bug in my test env with the same smb.conf.
the system version and the samba version are the same in testing and production env.
the difference is that the samba in production env is update from version 4.4.4 to 4.6.2 to 4.7.1, and the samba in testing env is directly using version 4.7.1.

RECYCLER and recycler bin
Hello,
I have recognized a pretty annoying thing with my Samba-Server:
My smb.conf is set, that deletet files go into the dir
".Papierkorb". It works well one one Client, but when the user deletes Files on the other client, a dir called "RECYCLER" appears with the file and some .ini files in it. Is there a way to solve this?
Both clients are WinXP, I'm using Samba
