Problem upgrading to 3.0.4 and ArcServe
Hi, Since I had upgraded from Samba 3.0.0 to 3.0.4 I have problems with ArcServe to connect to the share. Arcserve is running on a NT 4.0 box, everytime I try to connect to the samba share it says me "authenticacion failed". When I browse the share from windows explorer I have not problems. Thank you in advance Guillermo

" ERROR! Out of file structures" with smbd, and Arcserve IT on sm b share
Hi again, I was previously writing for a problem with Arcserve IT and Samba (with linux). The connection drops after 15 minutes. Continuing to understand what's happening, I discovered the following message in the logs: [1999/06/01 14:42:08, 0] smbd/files.c:file_new(85) ERROR! Out of file structures Immediatly I ran into the samba code to try to understand the cause of the problem.

Help! problems with Arcserve. Can someone decrypt the logs ?
Hi everyone, We use samba 2.0.4 and are very glad of it. However, recently I had to add a backup facility on our network, so we plan to purchase Arcserve IT for NT, in order to backup our servers. We are using mainly 3 Linux servers and 1 NT server, which runs the backup service. However, as Itried to add a simple share on the file server to enable backup, later I encounter problems with

I normally don't do this - haven't got any traction on taroon list and I want to get a backup going. I have an RHEL 3 server and it is serving some simple web stuff (horde/imp/etc.) I have installed BrightStor ArcServe and I need it to also serve some web pages. The ArcServe runs on a different port but has it's own httpd.conf with the distribution. The last time I did it, it was

rpcclient & enumprinters for large printcap files
Here's the scoop, Well Jeremy and I found the bug last night. Unfortunately it will not be fixed soon. The problem is a bug in our client side code wrt oversized PDUs. When the needed size > MAX_PDU_SIZE in a parsing struct, we need to fragment the PDU and use SMBwrite instead of a single SMBtrans. Fortunately, this has not gotten us into big trouble yet. Jeremy knows how to fix it,

Why can't my backup user log in to the share?
I'm trying to work out why I have the following problem, and I'd really appreciate any help you guys can offer: I have a samba share mapped as drive o: to an NT4 server, which happens to be the machine that takes our backups. What I want to do is back up the data on the Samba share too. Simple enough, you'd ahve thought, and I can back up stuff from a Windows share fine. But,

Upgrade from samba 3.0.4 to 3.0.6 broke file sharing
system is redhat 9 on a dell power edge 2450 running latest krb5 and openldap rpm It worked perfectly on 3.0.4 but arcserve wouldn't back up so I upgraded to 306 and everything installed correctly but now when you try and connect to the server it pops the user login box up. I can run net ads user -U Administrator and log in with my admin password and it lists all my user accounts. I can add
