Windows 2012 s4u2self followed by s4u2proxy fails against samba
Hi, I hit the issue described in this thread https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux.samba/VfjW9Af92Wg while testing out s4u2self and s4u2proxy in a windows service, so I wanted to share my setup. So I wrote a small windows service that's running as a local system account to impersonate an user via s4u2self (using LsaLogonUser in win32 api than calling ImpersonateLoggedOnUser) and then

Access denied because of conflicting credentials.
Hi everyone ! I have been working for a long time now on doing file sharing with a samba domain member of a Windows 2000 AD server. My Samba Server is visible in the Windows Network, and I've joined him using : kinit & net ads join... All that is fine, but when I try to access my shares from a W2k client, I receive the following message : Access denied because of conflicting

REofRE: password change on the domain password server using clienttools
Hi Lieven Thanks for advise ! the getent passwd command shows me all the users of the 2k domain in this format : DOMAIN2K+user:x:10000:10026::/home/NetBiosName/user:/bin/bash I think that's correct. But do you think I got to use nss pam or something like that ? I just can't login with a 2000 user on Samba, but guests (unknown users ) can, when I permit them to. So I think users are

Samba 3.0 AD usage problems
Dear all, I downloaded samba3.0-alpha21 and followed each step in "ADS-HOWTO.txt". But mapping a network directory from a Windows client failed (step 4: Test your server setup). (Succeeded in other steps.... Including step 5) Only local users in the samba server can access the share folder. (Please refer to the smb.conf listed below...) And "#kadmin -p administrator" fails

kerberos issue (SPN not found) with windows Hyper-V ( samba 4.5.3 AD)
After reviewing logs I found that my previous assumption was wrong. Situation: - i'm trying to start live migration from hyper-v host A (BMSRV4-HYPERV) to hyper-v host B (BM-SRV-5) from host B (logged in as user from DOMAIN ADMINS group). Kerberos constrained delegation is set in accordnance to microsoft instructions with proper SPN's set (well, proper as in with the workaround I

Samba not providing the right encryption in Kerberos
Hi, I have a domain with 3 DCs running 4.11.8. The database itself dates back to Samba3 and has been gradually updates over the years. bad encryption type when accessing AD member server
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm trying to access a Samba 3.0 server (running on Debian unstable) in an Active Directory environment. I successfully joined the domain, klist shows my Kerberos ticket(s) and I can use smbclient -k to access a Windows 2000 server. However, when I try to access a share on the Samba machine from a Windows 2000 client, I'm being asked

ADS still doesn't work with SAMBA 3 CVS.
Currently running CVS of SAMBA 3.1 - pulled down last night. The Samba machine is joining the domain (or so it reports) but it doesn't show up in AD Users & Computers. Attempting to browse the Samba computer from Windows (Advanced Server 2000) fails with password/username failures. Here is the output from "net ads join -U administrator". Yes, this is showing that I was

FW: Samba requesting nonexistent keytab type?
Hi all, I've downloaded and installed the 3.0.2pre1 package. However, I've not managed to get winbindd working. I've run into a credentials cache problem (so I haven't been able to even get to the point I was at before). My krb5.conf and pam settings haven't changed and I'm using the same smb.conf as before. I'm using MIT Kerberos 1.3.1 (in /usr/kerberos/). Here
