regpatch writing to local registry hive with -F not working (registery-utils 4.0.0~alpha15~git20110124.dfsg1-2ubuntu1)
Hi, I was hoping I could modify a locally mounted registry hive using regpatch and a .reg file but the -F argument seems to have no function. (Strace shows it ignores it and just operates on /var/lib/samba/private/hklm.ldb) Below is output with debug on. rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:cp /mnt/xp/WINDOWS/system32/config/software /tmp/software rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:/tmp/config$ sudo regpatch -d=10 -F

regpatch problem ?
Hi, I'm trying to use the samba4 registry tools for server-side editing of HKCU (ntuser.dat) on a Debian Etch samba 3 server. I was very pleased to see that backporting Debian experimental's samba4 package was very easy, so now I have a backported-to-Etch registry-tools package to start experiments : - regshell -F ntuser.dat works, one can manually add, remove, modify keys and

Installing RandomForest on SuSe Linux - warnings
I installed RF on Linux OpenSuSe 11.1 and while it did install and did run a model I had created on Windows correctly, it gave me a lot of "uninitialized" warnings. I don't know if these are significant and so am a little concerned even though my model ran. Any thoughts? using RSperl with "tree" package
Hello, I am trying to use the "tree" package in R with RSperl. I have generated a regression tree using the "tree" package in R and saved it in a file say "RegTree_2.Rdata" If I use the predict function from R command line, it works fine. However, I want to use it from within perl using RSperl. To do that, here is what I do, my $regTree =

Remote Windows registry read access from Linux?
Hi, In order to do some inventory and network management of our Windows machines, we'd really like to be able to extract some bookkeeping info from them - mostly from the registry. Anybody know how this is possible from Linux? (Most of) the information we seek is present in the registry of the remote windows machine, e.g. installed programs/hotfixes. But the Event Log, Info about

WinXP Client with Samba 2.2.3a PDC
I am having trouble with everything *except* joining the client to the domain. WinXP Pro clients join the domain via the Samba-PDC howto, all works well. Trying to browse other domain resources or attempts to logon via the "domain" bring up this error in log.smbd: [2002/03/14 01:14:36, 0] rpc_server/srv_samr.c:api_samr_set_userinfo(670) api_samr_set_userinfo: Unable to unmarshall

Remote Registry Changes
Heyho. I'm trying to add registry entries to my workstations remotely from my server. I can currently do this remotely from any other workstation, using the standard Windows regedt32, but I'd like to do it form the server. .. The server is Samba 3.0.22-r3 on a Gentoo server. I've been digging around for a while now, and have managed to find docs for samba-tng which seem to

Getting remote registry information.
Hey, all. A couple weeks ago, I asked about getting remote registry information, and someone helpfully offered up "net rpc registry [blah]". And it does a decent job, but I'm yet to find the right permutation that would give me a whole branch of the hierarchy (akin to doing an export in regedit). For what I'm looking to do, that would be really, truly handy. Most seem to save
