Printing to Samba/Cups from Windows kills windows application.
Hi People,
I have just built a Samba 3.0.2 server using Suse Standard Server 8 and Cups
for printing. Setting up printers and printing works fine for all of the
more modern printers, but older HP Laserjet 5N / 4 printers do not. When
trying to print to them from Win 2k/XP the windows app that we're printing
from just dies, or gives a "do you want to send error report to

Samba Printing with CUPS
Hi,
I'm a bit new to the whole Samba printing thing and need some help. I am
running Caldera OpenLinux with Samba 2.2.4 and CUPS 1.1.10. I have
successfully managed to upload print drivers to the Samba server from a
Windows NT client. I have then managed to add the printers to several
windows clients without downloading drivers to them. This appeared to work
fine, with excellent

T100P No D-channels
Hi
Last week I installed Asterisk (release1) with digium t100p single span T1
(wct1xxp) board on Dell GX270 pc configured for PRI. Asterisk/t100p is
currently the only user of the t1 line. All worked well for about a half a
day, PSTN to SIP phones to non-SIP IP phones etc. Alas, since then I
consistently get multitudes of blue alarms on all b-channels followed by a
loss of d-channel:

Samba killing windows spool service
Hi folks,
Whilst viewing printers on a samba 2.2.5 (just been upgraded from 2.2.4)
server, both an NT and W2K machine had the print spooler service killed off
at the same time. I have been reliably informed that this doesn't just
happen like that! Any ideas as to why this would happen, as its a bit of a
major prob.
Thanks a lot,

[PATCH] allow announcements in app_dial
Hi.
Since a customer requested us that feature, I wrote this
little patch for app_dial to allow to play an
announcement to the called party, as soon he answers.
you can define the file to play in the dial() option,
using A(filename).
for example:
exten => blah,1,Dial(Zap/blah,30,rA(/my/own/announce)Tt)
that doesn't break anything ...
feel free to blame me for anything bad this patch

Printing from Windows 2000
Hello all...I was having incredible difficulty in setting up my HP Color LaserJet 4500 to be shared on a Caldera 2.3 Linux server with access to it from Windows 2000 machines. I've been working about a week now (sadly enough) and I think I've made some progress mainly from information in newsgroups and online documentation. Here's what I have so far: I can print from the linux

help Error with Cli_spoolss_notify.c in CUPS
Hello,
I am getting this error when Win XP machines print to my SAMBA server. I think it is a compile issue, if so how do I recompile or get it in place. I used RPM to 'install' SAMBA. Anyone have any suggestions?
I am using SAMBA 2.2.6a with CUPS 1.1.8 on Caldera OpenLINUX 3.1.1

Problems Printing w/ Caldera OpenServer
I am having problems getting Samba configured so I can print. I am going from Windows XP to Samba. I don't get any error messages in Windows saying that there is a problem. It sends the document then that is it. It is like the document gets lost. I am able to print through Linux and WebMin. What should I look at next? I am using the latest version of Caldera OpenServer. I believe the version

zaphfc in mode TE can't dialout (dialin is OK)
Hello,
I am trying to use a HFC-PCI (CCD/Billion/Asuscom 2BD0) card in TE mode
to dial-in and out with ISDN.
The problem is I can not get the card to dial out with a Zap channel.
Dial-in is working. I am using bri-stuff 0.1.0-RC4 (but tried also RC3
and RC2k). I tried all combination of "immediate", "overlapdial",
"pridialplan". I earlier also managed to dial out

App Read() kills call when file doesn't exist
I don't know if this is a recent issue... When the read() application is
given a file that does not exist, it aborts the ENTIRE dial plan. That
can't be right. Playback() and Background() don't do this. Couldn't find
a bug in mantis for it...
