smbd pids
just noticed the following problem.. after running samba 302rc1(as pdc) for a few day's. old SMBD pid's are left in the procces tree.. eating memory and cpu time, causing linux to overload and not function annymore. after stopping samba, the smbd pid's will stay. stopping samba the 2nd time will do the trick, they finaly disapear... so you have to stop samba twice.. ?? don't

Strange problem with 3.0.4
Dear list, I recently updated my servers from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4. After that upgrade I discover a strange problem: I can mount/browse/whatever shares with Windows Explorer, MSIE, Firefox ... but I cannot use a mounted share with Macromedia Homesite. I can't see anything in my logs, I allways get a "Connection refused. Maybe you are not authorized to use this share."-message. I

password change, domain not available
Dear Herman, We had the same problems over here. The problem seems to be related to Windows Hotfix KB828741. Removing the hotfix through the control panel solved it for us. Account desc mysql backend
ehh, just a little remark/note for the mysql passwd backend users and developers... when adding a user, the 'account desc' field is NOT filled in..! when adding some text manualy, and doing pdbedit -v <user> the field showes up, so when reading from the passwdbackend, the fields are resolved, when writting too the passwdbackend , the description field (and maybe more important

Teaching Models to Render Themselves in the Controller
I am trying to teach my models how to render themselves, i.e. <%= my_model_object.render() %> Let me explain my reasoning and proposed method before this gets shot down as anti-MVC. Let''s say I am writing a contact-management application. I have a class Contact. I will need to display this class all over the application. My first choice is to use a partial. Now I can

[LLVMdev] how to use the shadow-stack?
Hi, I'm trying to start using gc with llvm, and was trying to get started with the shadow-stack plugin. I'm having trouble putting everything together, even in this simple case. My compiler generates the necessary gcroot instructions and for now I would be glad just being able to walk through the roots and print out some numbers. For example, I have the following my.ll file: my.ll:

[LLVMdev] MCJIT and Kaleidoscope Tutorial
Hi Dmitri, You're right. The lli code should be cleaned up. As David said, there was a time when the call to invalidate the instruction cache was necessary. Open source streaming project in need of developers
Hi everyone, I thought long and hard (ok, not *that* long) about whether or not to crosspost this to icecast-dev. In the end I decided not to since this isn't about an Icecast or Xiph project. My name is Geoff Shang and I've been an enthusiastic user of Icecast for a long time. I am also the chief tech guy for a project called ACB Radio (http://www.acbradio.org), which is run by

Standalone Samba and group permission
Hi, I have been experimenting and googling without finding so much as a hint to what I am doing wrong. I have a Samba server (Ubuntu 10.04) set up for standalone usage. I have Posix ACL's enabled on my filesystem, and a directory with the following permissions: # file: beheer/ # owner: beheerder # group: users user::rwx user:clamav:r-x user:beheerder:rwx group::--- group:users:--- mask::rwx

live365
Another, but more recent problem, I am having is Live365. I haven't done much work with it, but can you relay to Live365 properly? They give me an ip and it works, but I don't show up in their listings, and the song title doesn't show up in the client's mp3player. (whereas if someone listens to the local broadcast they do get the song titles). Using latest, from CVS, Icecast
