Strage result with an append/strptime combination
Hi, I keep on trying to write some small scripts in order to learn R but even with basic scripts I have problems ... I start with the name of a file which is in fact the time the file has been generated (I cannot change the format). Then I convert namefile with strptime. The problem occurs when I add another time from another file with append. It displays some informations I don't want. I

Wine and SonicStage
Hi, I've want to syncronise between Solaris and my MiniDisc, the application database relating to wether SonicStage is inaccurate at best (unreliable because some replies says it works, whilst others say no). Anyone got any experience syncronising a Sony MZ-RH1, SonicStage 4.3 and wine? (unless there is a native solution) Matt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

rsync 2.4.6 hanging on HPUX11 only over firewall.
We are running rsync 2.4.6 on HPUX-11and using it to push a document-root from a staging area to several servers running rsync in daemon mode. The rsync client syncs successfully to modules on the same server and to most other machines, but hangs when trying to syncronise across a firewall (from SECURE zone to DMZ) (The firewall port IS OPEN!!) During a normal release where there are rougly

Access Windows network shares from an external Windows PC using an ubuntu server as 'gateway'
Hi everybody. I live with 10 good friends in a student house. We have a network containing lots of stuff like movies, presentations, documents etc. Each one of us use Windows as the primary OS (I am the only one using linux too) and so our network exists out of Windows network shares. We use these network shares very much. We would like to be able to access these files remotely too (when being

Call Recording Questions
Hi, 1) I want to create add *1 call recording and wanted to know whether the file is created during recording or only after? I want to syncronise the recorded files with my web server (on a different machine (Windows)) so I need a way of telling when the recorded call has ended before copying it over. 2) I tried setting up *1 in features.conf but when I press *1, all that happens is

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM as a crosscompiler
Hi Koen, The process to build llvm-gcc as a crosscompiler is basically the same as build a normal gcc as crosscompiler. The differences: you need a LLVM installed (compiled for the host). You must configure llvm-gcc with --enable-llvm. Problems: - Today LLVM supports ARM/EABI, but llvm-gcc don't. You must apply the patch:

Samba PDF printer...
Hello Using Samba 2.2.8a on a Redhat 7.2 box I set up a PDF generator relying on Samba and a shell script to create the output. This works fine but I have a further trouble that I am stumped by. The files cannot be viewed from within a Citrix session (the point of the entire exercise) unless they are available from this one NT Server share. So if I mount a Windows NT server share under

how to import several files every day
Hi All I want to import several .dat files every day of the week from the same folder. Let say, on day 1, I have about 100 files in the folder. By using this code, everything works perfectly (maybe there is a more efficient way to do it): filenames <-list.files(path="pathtofile", full.names=TRUE) library(plyr) import.list <- llply(filenames, read.table, header=TRUE,

Samba password problem when in domain
Hi, In our network, I have set up a samba server in a workgroup. We're now migrating to a domain, using SBS 2003. When I locally login on XP and access the samba server, it works just fine. But, when I login on the domain and then try to access the same samba box, it doesn't accept my password. The username for my samba account and account on the domain are the same. Also, the name of

SAMBA digest 1647
Very very very cool. I have been thinking of this one myself. I thought I tested it and that I came to the conclusion that Samba did not recognize named pipes, and just treated them like normal files (overwriting them when you drag a text file onto them). But I must have made a mistake somewhere. It' perfect. The way I will set it up is like this: a Progress program will sit on a named

Config problems (?)
Dear Address, we have some problem with our Samba (v2.0.7). We use it for a short time only, so we don't have enough experience and knowledge about it. The operating system on HP computer, on which is installed the Samba, is HP-UX 10.20. The operating system on PC, which connect to the Samba, is NT 4.0 sp. 6. The problem is the following: we have a special card, which can communicate with

Alleged bug in Silk codec
Yes, regarding the unsigned to signed conversion you are right, it is implementation defined. I just had an issue a couple of years ago with a compiler which incorrectly treated unsigned overflow as undefined rather than implementation defined? Regarding the 64 bit profiling: I looked at the disassembly (gcc ?c ?S ?O2 ../opus/silk/sum_sqr_shift.c ?I../opus/include ?I../opus/celt) of the 64 bit

Automatic password syncronisation.
I have set up Samba on a Debian Lenny server. I have set up the users by using 'adduser' and then using 'smbpassword -a username' to add the users to the Samba users database. The users have the same username on both their Windows Client and the Samba server. my smb.conf security = user username level 2 encrypt passwords = true obey pam restrictions = yes

Samba as a time server
Greetings, is there any way to force Samba to return the non-daylight savings time when Win/OS2 clients attempt to syncronise their clocks with it? The only way I can tell is to force the entire system to ignore DST using /etc/localtime regards, -- scott

Yes those instructions exist, although they're a bit slower than the basic 16x16->32 with 32-bit accumulation (SMLABB). So I'd be surprised if the function with 64 bit accumulation would run as fast as the current code. Don't know how much we care about 16-bit platforms. And accuracy should not matter. On the other hand, a 64-bit implementation is much cleaner/shorter, which is
