Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode tc_windup()
After a cvsup to RELENG_6 today I got the following trap while encoding some videos with Avidemux. I'm going to leave the machine at the ddb prompt since the following trace information doesn't seem very helpful. Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0xffffffbb80551f10 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer

BUG: unable to handle page fault for address nouveau_fence_new
(Apologies for any duplication, yesterday's e-mail doesn't seem to have made it through moderation) I've had several recent crashes of the nouveau kernel driver over the past month or so. My suspicion is that Firefox is causing it. The screen goes black and then the computer reboots. Nothing much in the syslogs, however I've managed to get netconsole output. I've also run

Fatal Trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode on IBM x340 after Aug25CVS
Hi, We did an upgrade of one of our machines from an Aug 25 CVS and ever since then one of the machines likes to reboot about once a day. The machine is the following: IBM x340 2x1GHZ Processors 1GB RAM 3x36GB Drives (RAID 5) Mylex ExtreRAID 352 In the panic it mentions httpd, but I don't *think* it's apache (1.3.27) that's causing the problem, or am I wrong? I also believe it is

I've had several recent crashes of the nouveau kernel driver over the past month or so. My suspicion is that Firefox is causing it. The screen goes black and then the computer reboots. Question on GlobalISel Intermediate invariants
Hello, I just started using the GlobalISel framework. Is there a way to emit all intermediate invariants from IRTranslator to Instrution-Selection in a single instruction? It will be really handy. I mean something like '-save-temps' in clang. Best regards, Kumail Ahmed -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

5.1-RELEASE-p2 daily panic
(please CC as I'm not subscribed) Not sure if freebsd-stable@ is the correct list as this is 5.1-RELEASE-p2. Seems to have started after rebuild for -p2 patches. The box was quite stable before then. This is very easy to reproduce. It happens daily just before 24 hrs uptime. FreeBSD edge.internal 5.1-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE-p2 #0: Sat Aug 30 13:07:49 CDT 2003

Kernel Panic 12 since 4.8
Hello, I'm having a lot of trouble installing FreeBSD 4.8. First I tried installing 4.8-Stable, but I got kernel panic 12. After that I tried installing 4.8-Release, but it still gave me kernel panic 12 (sometimes while almost done booting, or short after a boot, while trying to cvsup the ports-tree). Also tried a few 4.7-Stable snapshots, but also had the same problem. It was not until

Supermicro PDSMI failed to boot on fresh RELENG_7/amd64
Colleagues, 3 of 4 times this machine failed to boot, panicing somewhere in late kernel initialization phase (before /sbin/init is executed) I have serial console and KDB enabled, so can do experiments. Last two crashes: Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x8 fault code = supervisor read data, page not present instruction pointer =

20040616 segmentation fault
Thanks to Ivan for help. I seeked for wine-2004615 but: 1. The only 2004615 I found is for Mandrake. I am using RedHat 7.3, uname tells me that I have got Arch. i686 Can I use this Mandrake wine-20040615-mdk.i586.rpm ? It is described as i386. I am confused with this i386, i586 and i686. I thought I should only use what my PC is: i686. 2. I installed the package via KPackage

7.2RC2 panic in drm_open_helper on amd64
[ Normally I'd have replied to the original email but I couldn't figure out a way to subscribe to a list, and then reply to an email already posted to the list.] I have this very problem (with a different card): http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2009-April/049618.html It looks like drm_open_helper() gets a NULL dev parameter and a panic occurs when it attempts to set

Panic dereferencing p->p_leader during exit1()
My wife got the following from a system running (effectively) 4.8-RELEASE (I built/installed world just before the kernel version was updated from 4.8-RC to 4.8-RELEASE). I gather she made a few attempts to get mozilla to start and then the system panic'd. According to the crashdump, p->p_leader is NULL but according to the code, this can never happen. This is a UP Athlon XP-1800 with

4.9 RC1 (i386) mplayer induced panic
All: I cvsup'ed earlier this evening and am still able to reproduce this panic at will. Command line, panic backtrace, dmesg, ldd output, and mplayer version follow. If more information is needed, just let me know. % mplayer foo.mov [a quicktime file] [plays for awhile, and then panics] # gdb -k -s /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/LICHEN/kernel.debug -e /var/crash/kernel.2 -c /var/crash/vmcore.2

panic possibly related to soft updates? (4.8-STABLE, Jun 12 2003)
Hello list, I have been fighting this problem for a few days now. I have changed memory and opened the case and monitored for heat. I have been getting the same panic about every 12 to 24 hours. I can let the system sit idle, or run it under a heavy load (cpu and disk), but the panics dont seem to be related to system load. It looks to me like a dangling pointer in softdep_update_inodeblock,

USING MULTILEVEL PACKAGE AND WABA FUNCTION
Dear friends, this time I have a problem with using waba function. Firstly, I'll explain you my situation. In the survey a gruop of supervisors judge the dipendents of a company. One supervisor reported on more than one subordinate. Thus, I need to show that lack of independence is not a problem, and a reviewer told me to use WABA. The question is, how? In which way i can build my X and Y?
