approxfun + save: problem as R_approx changed package
Hi all,
I recently switched to R version 2.6.2 (from 2.5.0 I was using) on Windows XP.
I have a fair amount of previous data saved in the form of "approxfun" objects created by version 2.5.0, with code basically like this:
> x <- rlnorm(100,10,2)
> f <- approxfun(1:100,x)
> f(5)
[1] 313811.3
> save(f, file="mytest_approx.Rdata")
Now on 2.6.2, when I try to

R: bug in windows GUI/script editor (PR#8288)
Hi Duncan,
I am running R in MDI mode (with localisation not installed because I need to use RWinEdt), on an Italian version of Windows 2000 Pro.
I just logged in today and tried to reproduce the bug: the first three times all was fine, the fourth one I got the bug, and finally noticed one detail: the bug appears when I open an R script (I tried several) which causes the "part of the

manage user for samba shares from mmc
Hello,
Following a previous question, I want to know if it is possible to get the unix users in a Microsoft mmc share window.
My config:
Debian lenny or squeeze
Samba : Security=user
Acls have been enabled in a mounted xfs partition.
So far from the mmc :
- I can access the shares,
- I can put acls on the shares folders and subfolders.
But when I want to access the unix accounts through the

MMC crashes with rc6
Hello,
I am having a problem after performing a classicupgrade with rc6. This did
not happen with previous RCs. When adding any of the AD MMC snap-ins from a
member computer, MMC crashes with the error below. I have the provision
scripted and am using the same ldif, smb.conf and /var/lib/samba, so I'm
fairly certain the only difference is rc6. I am testing with a Win 7 VM

Controlling share ACL through W2K's Computer Management MMC
Hi,
This is samba 3.0.2a-1 on Debian testing. I'm trying to change share
permission with Computer Management snap-in in Windows 2003 Server, but
only access denied is given. The only answer I found is
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2001-December/017809.html
. So I have to use "change share command" and login as local root? I
don't like this. Is this the

managing unix services remotely from mmc on windows
Hello List!
May I humbly submit my apologies if this has been done to death already and if
so, please consider this a feature request for a *searchable* mailing list
archive ;)
I'm loving the idea of being able to use one of my windows servers to start
and stop the *nix services via the computer management console. Makes life
easier for the less *nix savvy members of my team.

MMC and Permission view
I'm charged to investigate the usage of samba as a file server in a Windows
network with WinXP machines and Active Directory as authentication system.
I experience some problems to let it work correctly.
I can't add some share on the linux debian (2.6.7 with ACL backdoors)
machine with the MMC plug-in. When I try I get access is denied. The
security tab on the winXP machine doesn't

Glitches adding homedir profiles to a samba share with AD MMC?
Hi all,
We have a mixed network environment with Samba servers providing file
storage for windows, Linux and MAC 0SX users. Authentication is
handled by Active Directory on Win2K SP. On our campus we allow
computer lab teachers to add users via the Active Directory MMC.
However we have a couple of issues which make this far from seamless:
After users are added to AD, the lab admin will add a

Samba4 - Manage DNS with MMC shows "ghost" Entries
Hi,
We wanted to deploy Samba4 in our existing Samba3 Environment. So far
everything (migrating the user data etc) went quite well, but after the
initial domain-deployment we are seeing ghost entries or random data in our
"DNS" MMC snap-in on our windows client. Every refresh triggers a new view.
Basically it is the problem/bug outlined here:

We normally do this via attachments to bugzilla bugs restricted to the
samba developers group. Start by filing a bug about this.

Access denied msg when using M$ MMC under W2k or XP on ACL compiled Samba and 2.4.20 Kernel with Acl on ext2 and ext3
Hello,
I am currently struggling with the final step (so it seems) in using a RH9
box with standardized kernel build 2.4.20, with enabled acl, and Samba 3
built with ACL enabled as well. I am able to join the domian with net ADS
join -U USERNAME, and use wbinfo and getent, showing the users and groups
from the domain.
However, I am incappable of setting the permissions so DOMAIN+USER can use

I have a strange problem with Shared folders in MMC. While I try to connect

have permission to view the list of sessions from Windows clients".
The problem exists only if I try to connect to linux machines (Windows
Server is ok),
and only for Administrator account. From other accounts with Administrator
