REofRE: password change on the domain password server using clienttools
Hi Lieven
Thanks for advise !
the
getent passwd
command shows me all the users of the 2k domain in this format :
DOMAIN2K+user:x:10000:10026::/home/NetBiosName/user:/bin/bash
I think that's correct. But do you think I got to use nss pam or something
like that ?
I just can't login with a 2000 user on Samba, but guests (unknown users )
can, when I permit them to. So I think users are

Compiling --with-ldap on Solaris 9
I am trying to compile the small Samba 3.0.2a source on Solaris 9 to use
ldap. The ./configure run reports: "WARNING: libldap is needed for LDAP
support". The Solaris installation has it's native libldap installed in
/usr/lib, but the configuration does not seem to find it. Would anyone know
what I am missing? Thanks...dlb

samba 3.0.2a & Win2003 AD controler
Hello samba experts !
I have a big problem with my samba 3.0.2a on debian. I use winbindd, which
seems to work (getent passwd/group and wbinfo -u works), and the net ads
join worked too, but the authentication with the AD controler, hosted on
Win2003 Server, fails.

Query configuration parameters
Hi,
PostgreSQL has a tool pg_config that returns the parameters the
./configure script was called with.
$ pg_config --libdir
/usr/local/lib
$ pg_config --includedir
/usr/local/include
Does Samba have a similar feature and how do I call it?
Sorry, but this is impossible to google for.

Renice server process
Hi,
for a job of lesser priority I would like to connect to a
Samba server. When I'm doing a 'smbmount', enter the server
by SSH, pgrep for the new smbd process and then renice it I
have exactly the behaviour I desire.
Now I would like to automate this and yet start the server
process with lower priority. Connections to other clients
shall not be touched at all. Are there any

ISDN: Problems starting off
Hi,
the first thing I did with Asterisk is listening to
`demo-congrats' by Xlite on the same machine. This works
perfectly. The config files are those shipped with the
package.
Now I want to listen to it over ISDN/Capi but I don't
succeed.
My `capi.conf' is like show in many tutorial on the web. In
`extensions.conf' I just added the following lines:

Connect without password
Hi,
this is a question that is difficult to google for. It probably
even should be asked in a Windows forum. But as this is a list I
know for proficency, just let me start posing it here.
I want to connect to an XP share without entering a password
because this step is part of a script. I try to enter a command
like:

default roaming profile for Samba 3.0.2a / WinXP P
Hi togeteher,
Config:
Server: Samba 3.0.2a as PDC, no LDAP, no Kerberos
Clients: WinXP Prof
all working, dom-Logons are ok.
When I add a new linux-user, there ist a default profile for the
linux-user in the skel-directory.
Does Samba provide a 'skel-profile' for new samba-users (=domain-
users).
If so, where do I have to put the default profile and
