What I mean, suppose you have many classrooms, different printers (which sometimes change) in these classroms - how do you manage which workstation (or a group of them) will use which printer? PrintUIEntry for NT4?
For Win2K, I've been using RunDLL32 printui.dll, printuientry to do a bunch of different printer related stuff (most notably, mapping printers and setting the default). Looks like NT4 doesn't have the same stuff. Is there anything classier I can use than NET USE under NT4 (without downloading something like Kixstart)? Thanks for your help. ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| |

i tried using music on hold option in the dial command exten => 7777,1,Dial(zap/1/7777,20,m) when someone calls me and i picked up the phone, the call will be suddenly dropped. however, if i use a sip client instead of zap (also changing the dial statement to sip), i can answer the incoming call without a problem. is this a known bug? windows password longer than 8 chars will not work
Hello,, Is there anything I can do to our Samba servers to make Windows passwords longer than 8 characters work? Thanks. Our Samba servers use SERVER security, and authenticate against the same Windows 2K logon server (PDC) that serves all our Windows 2K & XP desktops. Any of us with a Windows network password less than or equal to 8 characters long can mount the Samba shares seamlessly,

Samba 3 ldap password sync
Well, I seem to have gotten past the most difficult parts as far as Samba and LDAP are concerned. I'm able to have a user log in to the domain, and get authenticated via LDAP. The user can also change the LDAP password from the Windows screen (control-alt-delete->change password). So most stuff as far as the windows domain login appears. My problem is this. Linux and other users need to

Drop in NT print server replacement; NT print names and NT share names-how to handle with Samba
Hello samba list members, I am going to be replacing out NT print server with a linux/samba solution. My main problem/question is how will the NT clients deal with the Samba server when the following facts are true. 1. NT creates an NT printer name 2. When you actually share the printer, you can create a totally different share name. For example we have the following printer, (and numerous

Hello everyone - I just upgraded from Samba 1.9.16p9 to 2.0.6 last week. Samba is running on my Digital UNIX 4.0E (aka Tru64 aka OSF1) workstation, and I have various Win'95, Win'98, and NT 4.0 (SP4 & SP6) computers accessing the Samba shares. One share is read-only, and one is read/write to specific users (I've included my smb.conf file below). If a users accesses the

adding printers from netlogon script
While this doesn't relate specifically to Samba, I need to do this in a netlogon .bat file in a Samba domain. In my network, I have a printer hooked to a JetDirect so that it is a TCP/IP printer. Is there a way I can automatically have this printer mapped/added when the user is logged on? -- Andrew Gaffney
