Hi, I would like to install SWAT to administer Samba on my Mandrake 9.0 server. The Swat file is ver 2.2.8 while my Samba is version 2.2.6. The installation aborts because of version differences. I have tried to upgrade Samba to version 2.2.8 but run into other problems with dependencies. Am I correct in thinking that I have to uninstall Samba first and then re-install the later version? I installed the RPMS from samba web site for Mandrake 9.1. Configuration is weird as things are labeled smbd3 or winbind3... Testparm runs against /etc/samba/smb.conf yet swat configures the smb.conf in a different location...hmm.... But really my problem is joining the AD domain as a member server. Not to be the annoying child, but I have found myself uniquely annoyed that I can't update RPMs that include Samba 3, and I'm not certain if that's because it's even ready for Mandrake 9.2. Does anyone have a bead on this? Should I just go back to 2.2.8 and wait for the stable, or can someone point out a URL that has a stable 3.0 on it? Thanks Eric
