smb + nfs lock problem
Hello,
whenever I try to copy a new file from windowsXP (2K also) to a samba
share which is NFS mounted on the samba server, I get an error on the
client: "impossible to copy file.txt: the process cannot access the file
because an other process has locked a part of it" (my english
translation of the french message I have !)
It worked fine before (3weeks ago) and I think that problem

Dovecot-antispam does not work
Hi,
I have installed dovecot-antispam and configured it this way (as in the doc)
with the dspam exe:

mail_plugins = antispam
mail_plugin_dir = /usr/lib64/dovecot/imap
}
plugin {
# For dovecot-antispam:

Here is my test project then.
To keep the zip small, I didn't put the flac files. Just copy the
flac-1.1.0 directory into flactest (so that the path flac-1.1.0\include
and flac-1.1.0\src exists in flactest). The project should then compile
as is.
All the code is in flactest.cpp. It's pretty basic. You'll have to

Deferred emails on alias emails
Hi,
I am currently making a fresh install of email server. I am having some
issue with dovecot-antispam (cf. other emails), and noticed that I was
having issues on aliases, which apparently where not forwarded to the actual
SMTP server after passing through dspam. Still don't figure why but
temporarily disable the dspam filter, which anyway is not useful in the
current state of this

package "plotrix"
I installed package plotrix because reading its vignette it looks like it can help me solve a "legend" problem.
The package instaleed correctly on my Mac OS/X 10.5.8
But I cannot reproduce the examples centered on function "lgendg".

FLAC on Pocket PC
Hi,
I'm trying to use FLAC (v1.1.0) on a Pocket PC (Toshiba e740). It
compiles fine without any warning. When I try to compresse 16bits waves,
everything is fine. When I try to compress 8bits waves, I get a audio
mismatch error (FLAC__STREAM_ENCODER_VERIFY_MISMATCH_IN_AUDIO_DATA).
Does anyone have had this problem? I can send the project if someone can
look at it.
Thanks,
Jehan

Zaptel & multiple kernels
Hi,
If I have multiple kernel sources in /usr/src, e.g.
linux-headers-2.6.26-1-686
linux-headers-2.6.26.custom.1
how does the Zaptel Makefile(?) know which one to pick?
Is it a good approach to compile the kernel first and then compile
Zaptel "manually" afterwards?
Or should I rather put zaptel in /usr/src/modules and use
fakeroot make-kpkg ... modules_image
in the kernel

Large (3000+ users) NT to Samba migration
Hi guys and girls,
A client of mine is seriously investigating migrating their 7 NT servers and
3000+ users to Linux running Samba.
I've read one or two documents so far about the migration, but I'm still a
little unclear about a number of things.
When you have a chance I'd really appreciate your guidance on the following
items.
1.) LDAP, /etc/passwd or MySQL backend (if supported).

Hi all,
Hi all,
as I told earlier, I am installing an email server with
postfix/dovecot/dspam (for now that's all, though some programs may come
later). For now, what works good enough is that I receive mails and spams
are tagged. Dovecot version 1.1.7-r1 compiled from the gentoo depository
with debug.
The path of a mail is
1/ to be passed to dspam by postfix as a virtual transport with this in

GXP-2000
I'm using a few GXP-2000 with firmware 1.0.2.13 and everything seems
to be working fine. However, there are a couple of issues I'd like to
know if are possible:
1) Even though the phone has 4 line appearances, if I am speaking on
a line, the phone can no longer receive phone calls. I can manually
select another line and make calls, but when Asterisk tries to send a
call to it, I

glibc errors related to nss_ldap or pam_ldap?
I am trying to track down the cause of some errors that have been occurring
on a number of our servers using LDAP. We have noticed that when a certain
LDAP group exceeds 65 users we begin seeing glibc errors for users in the
group. Users that are not in the group do not exhibit this behavior.
We have seen this issue on machines running Centos 4.5 x86 & x86_64 with
glibc-2.3.4-2.36 and RH4

pam_ldap + nscd
Hi,
I'd like to use nscd for passwd+group caching. pam_ldap is configured and works
(e.g. 'id foo' returns the correct user id if foo is present in ldap).
If I start nscd manually (not started by default), 'id foo' returns 'No such
user'. As soon as I stop nscd, 'id foo' starts working again. I suspect nscd is
only looking at /etc/passwd because 'id

Anyone using pam_ldap ? need clarifications
Hi list,
I'm using a SSH gateway where our users are authenticated against an
openldap server. It's working great and the users can also change their
password with the 'passwd' command.
My problem is that recently I've tested our users's password for weak
entries (with john the ripper) and found that all the password changed
with 'passwd' and thus pam_ldap where

winbind versus nss/pam_ldap
Hi there,
Since samba 3.0 I've been using Samba PDC and BDCs backed by OpenLDAP,
and I configure my member servers (all running Linux) to use nss and pam
to get user information directly from LDAP. I took this way because I
had previous experience using LDAP for e-mail and web apps. But it looks
from the list and samba docs that most people configure winbind on
member servers, and so

Dovecot + FreeBSD 6.0 + pam_ldap + nss_ldap
Hello all
I am new to dovecot and I have some troubles to make it working
on a FreeBSD 6.0 box
On this machine I have nss_ldap + pam_ldap working to login users
but dovecot is not working for "ldap" users, it works only for
users that are "really" in /etc/passwd file.
I have configured dovecot to use the passwd auth mechanism as the
OS is suppose to do the job, but it
