logging messages
Hi all, I'm trying to learn R from an non-statistician's POV. I've got a statistician who uses R, but I'm the schmuck who has to integrate his R functions into an automated process. One of the things I would really like is the ability to log messages to file, specifically using syslog on a Linux box. (I also want to write messages to STDOUT based on a command-line flag, but I

I guess the source code snippets are updated

Help configuring Samba-3 to share $HOME directories
I'm looking for help configuring Samba-3 to allow me to share out home directories from a UNIX host to Windows XP clients so that my Windows domain users can read and write to their home directories on the UNIX host. I've attempted to follow the examples in "Samba-3 by Example" to no success. I've also followed the tutorial: http://bob.rasey.net/archives/000137.html, which

trouble connecting to Panduit VGA adapter
I want to connect to an InFocus projector that sits behind a Panduit VGA adapter. I use a Thinkpad P51 with a mini display-port to VGA converter. The laptop runs Manjaro and has the video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-prime installed and it works with other monitors. For some reason it does not detect the projector that is connected through the Panduit. The keyboard shortcut to switch monitor configuration

Does v4.13 fix your issues? v4.10 also included significant rework related to DP-MST, and I wouldn't be surprised if it fixed a few DP issues along the way. (Also, please don't drop the list from your replies.) On Mon, Sep 4, 2017 at 9:30 AM, Marko Schuetz-Schmuck <MarkoSchuetz at web.de> wrote: > I'm running 4.9.43-1-MANJARO > > Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at

Are you running a v4.12-based kernel? If so, update to v4.13-rcN or integrate https://github.com/skeggsb/linux/commit/13a86519202c5d119d83640d6f781f3181205d2c into your kernel build. Remote Monitoring From Web
Seems like remote monitoring of UPS from the Web UI is really porked. Used to use ACL and ACCEPT in upsd.conf. Since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04 and the NUT that comes with it, all I get is whining about how ACL and ACCEPT are no longer supported and I should use LISTEN. When I use LISTEN, I see an error message about upsd not listening on port 3493. For example: LISTEN 192.168.1.1 3493

problems with authentication -- restrict certain actions to certain users
Ok, so at this point I''ve got my app completely written, including the login generator, and I''ve even got stuff like the layout done up all nicely so that the login page matches the rest of the site nicely. All is good. But there''s one problem: I''m not running a wiki here, I''m running a personal site. As it is, any schmuck can log in, and anybody

gssproxy items...
Hi, I've been working on some systems trying to get kerberized nfsv4 and kerberized web services going on 7. Kerberized nfsv4 was working with 7.0, but with the 7.1 release it stopped working, the key difference between the two setups is that gssproxy wasn't being used with 7.0, but seems to be key with 7.1. The problem I am encountering with Kerberized NFSv4 is that the directory will

Using kerberized SSHD. Question.
I have a kerberized SSHD installed on HOST-1, a login server for the outside world. How can I make it so users are still authenticated via kerberos, even though they haven't yet received a ticket? The main reason for this is that a user who is at home, no vpn, but has an ssh client could then login and be authenticated by kerberos using password authentication, get a ticket, then be allowed

kerberized-nfs - any experts out there?
Is anyone on the list using kerberized-nfs on any kind of scale? I've been fighting with this for years. In general, when we have issues with this system, they are random and/or not repeatable. I've had very little luck with community support. I hope I don't offend by saying that! Rather, my belief is that these problems are very niche/esoteric, and so beyond the scope of typical

Changing from using floats to shorts did fix the high pitched tone problem. I'm having other problems but I'll look into it more first. high pitched tone and message on answer
Hi, I can dial in from pots using a single port analog fxs card once, but if I hang up and dial again within 10-20 seconds, I get this high pitched tone then a message to enter digits. I had assumed this was the privacy feature, but I don't have it enabled in my extensions. What could be causing this? Also if I dial in again its fine, then not, then fine, etc..... I noticed in debuging that

Re: High pitched whine with Speex
When I just copy the microphone input buffer to the output buffer the sound plays OK. But if I encode and decode the buffer through Speex I get a high pitched constant tone in the background. I actually do hear my voice speaking when I talk, but it's faint and much quieter than the tone. Here's what my data looks like: Input is the first 5 floats of each input buffer. Output is
