samba-tool OU's organisational units
I am confused as with samba-tool it does practically everything and all the default methods of M$ AD are covered. For some reason OU's seem to be missing I know OU's are very Group policy orientated but also they are simply Organisational Units. The ability to list, create and delete OU's seems to be omitted. Also when you add a user the destination OU parameter is missing. Is this

Samba-LDAP PDC - Disjoint uids required for different ou's?
Specifically what I am asking is, if I have a computer named ralph$ who is uidNumber 678 in ou=Computers and I have a user who is uidNumber 678 in ou=People, will this cause problems? Must the different sets of uidNumbers be disjoint acrossed different ou's?

GPO's in OU's not working
I've been noticing that group policies in OU's haven't been working for me. So far I've installed samba 4.1.4 on a fresh install of FreeBSD 10.0 with UFS + acls turned on with the only shares being sysvol, and netlogon. I can get Windows 7 machines to take policies that are in the root of my domain. If I create an OU move a computer or user to that OU and move the policy to that

Nested OU’s fail to return user / group lookups
Hi all, I have a configuration for a samba file server that I’m trying to get properly implemented. The issue isn’t with the shares but is with the user and groups lookups. The server resides in a nested container such as: >> samdom.com          >> Users_And_Computers                   >> CA_LOCATION_ON                         >> Servers

Samba 3 + LDAP with multiple ou's
Hello, all. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this configuration: I had a LDAP tree with this structure: dc=base + ou=unit1 + ou=People + ou=Groups + ou=Computers + ou=unit2 + ou=People + ou=Groups + ou=Computers + ou=unit3 + ou=People + ou=Groups + ou=Computers ... And I need people from unit1 logging on unit2, unit3, etc. First thing is to put all users on one

odd problem with proxyarp and DNAT
I have some hosts in a DMZ zone with proxyarp. In my local zone I have a host to which I DNAT. I have discovered that I can reach the host in the local zone by attempting to connect to the fw (As expected) or ANY proxyarped host in my dmz zone (as not expected). Is this normal ? (I''ve just discovered that actually the dnated host answers to requests sent to any IP routed to my host!)

Best practice OU and policy structure.
Hi, I'm in an organization where we're thinking of deploying a department and role based OU structure. So depending on people's responsibilities one has limitations on their PC, or Account. However I notice that applications who use Ldap to verify credentials against Samba, have problems when people get moved around as logically their Ldap referral "cn= ou = ou- .. "

Cannot create OrganizationalUnit under ou=Users
Hi everyone, I have a Samba 4.2.4 AD which works fine. I'm using Windows RSAT and I'm trying to create an OU under ou=Users, but this is not allowed. I can create OU's in the top DN, but not under ou=Users. Could this be a permissions problem or is this simply not possible or allowed? Thanks a lot, Roel

Samba-tool OU create
Hi, Sort of half asked this before and didn't really get a reply. The ability to create, delete and list OU's would seem to be a fundamental but for some reason is missing. Could anyone supply any details if its planned or are there alternative methods to create without the use of RSAT? Stuart

OU vs. Default CN?
I am having a hard time getting any information from this list about the default OU's used when running the net ads join command. After mapping to the wrong OU in Active Directory for a Samba Domain Member Server (ou=wrong_container,dc=server,dc=com) I cannot change this back to the default (cn=users,dc=server,dc=com). Any help is appreciated and here is the result of net ads dn command:

Joining samba server to Windows AD OU when OU has slashes in OU name
I'm attempting to join a samba server to a Windows 2003 Active Directory on a network I do not control. The admins are working to help me on this, but I am also attempting to be as inobtrusive as possible. To that end, I have set up a Windows PDC and another samba server (with the same configuration) on a private network to do my own testing without having to hassle the Windows admins and ask

When Asterisk is running, I'm using : asterisk -rx "database put Foo Bar 1" Can I do that when Asterisk is stopped, using some program that can read and write in ASTDB (I'm using Debian Squeeze). Will this change when ASTDB will be moving from Berkeley DB to SQLite 3 ?

No "Group Policy" tab in OU properties
Hi all, Recently I deployed a Samba 4 ADS, using this ( http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO) as a guide. Mostly it went well, until I came to the step of defining the group policy for the OU. I have an OU with users in them, and when I right-click on the OU container and go to properties, I only have the following options: - General - Managed by - COM+ I am therefore missing the
