Problem : Samba 3.0.2a as PDC with Win2000 Pro
Hi, all.... Honestly I'm a newbie in Linux. For a couple days, I've been trying to build my own PDC server. I've got enough manual resource for guidance, but somehow, untill now I can't log my Win2000 Profesional into the PDC server. I'm using Debian sid kernel 2.6.5, Samba 3.0.2a and a Win2000 box as client. I think there's nothing wrong with my smb.conf ( I guess...

FreeBSD samba server returns nt_status_acces_denied when DosStream xattr larger than 64KB
It's also interesting to note that ReFS in windows has a 128KB limit on the size of alternate data streams. When you try to write an overly large stream, the ReFS-backed server replies with "NT_STATUS_FILE_SYSTEM_LIMITATION" (0xc0000427) rather than "access denied". The windows client handles this more gracefully than a simple access denied message. It allows users to skip

FreeBSD samba server returns nt_status_acces_denied when DosStream xattr larger than 64KB
I wrote a powershell script on a windows computer to write an ADS on a file on a FreeBSD server with streams_xattr enabled. If it's smaller than 64KB, it succeeds. If it's larger than 64KB, I get an "access denied message" and powershell crashes. FreeBSD actually allows creation of large extended attributes (at least on ZFS volumes). I've personally added ones of up to 3MB in

I have a mail szerver, which works just fine as expected, TB move messages to trash folder after I delete it, and they are moved. I have an other server. If I delete a message, it doesn't move to the Trash folder. As deleted_to_trash plugin is installed, if I only mark messages as deleted, they

password strenght doubt
Hi people! I have a few problems with the password strength in Samba. I have a PDC with LDAP on Debian Stable, with a few packages from backports. The problem is that I can't find a way to enforce strenght to the passwords of the users. I can't define a policy to force things like: number of uppercase letters, number of downcase letters, number of numbers in the password, to check the
