After update to 2.2.5 "join to domain" doesn't work
hi list! i installed samba 2.2.5 and used the smb.conf that worked with 2.2.4. and the ldap-background wasn't modified. last but not least i made with smbpasswd the password entries for root and the workstation. when i try to join the ws to the domain w2k tells that the account is not available, but it means the ws-account, because with the root account i can map shares. the logfiles

Odd anova(lm()) order phenomenon, looking for an explanation
Hi everyone, I'm witnessing an odd modelling phenomenon that I can't explain. If anyone has seen this before, or can explain what's going on would let me know, I'd be very grateful! Especially if I'm just being dim. I'm fitting a pair of continuous variates and their interaction to some residuals from another model. The sequential anova statement changes with the term

once again: horrible speed!
hello, sorry, but the problem stays! if i want to copy a file with 4 mb from a w2k-ws to my samba pdc it takes near 25 seconds. if i copy the file from the server to the ws it takes only 2 seconds! another test was to mount a win_me-share with smbmount on the server: the copy also takes 2 second (in both directions). via ftp i can copy the file from the client to the server in 0,59 seconds (!!!)

[LLVMdev] How to explain this weird phenomenon????????
Hi, > BTW the opt command I use is *"opt -load ../../../Debug+Asserts/lib/Hello.so > -hello <hello.bc> -o hello.bc"* just use hello.bc not <hello.bc> otherwise the shell will redirect input and output. Ciao, Duncan.

Strange echo phenomenon (double tandem)
I have a strange problem with echo. My setup includes a Grandstream HT-488 which is both an FXO and a FXS. I noticed last evening that if I called the FXS through my asterisk box from my cell, the resulting connection was fine for me at the cell end, but produced dramatic and conversation ruining echo at the FXS of the HT-488. Today I realized that if I call out from the same FXS to my

rsync-phenomenon
Hi, I have some questions regarding rsync. I've created a little script that makes a backup of my home-directory using rsync. When I call this script again _all files_ will be copied again. What's wrong here? My environment: OS is Linux (SuSE 10.3) I want to backup my internal disk to an external disk connected via eSATA. The internal disk is ext3, the external disk is FAT32 (I want

strange phenomenon Word and Excel
Hi there, Just installed Samba 2.0.7 and it works without a hitch. Almost!!!!!!!!!!!! The weird thing is that when I click on a MS Excel or Word file in the NT explorer the application starts and opens the file located on the Samba box. The thing is it takes about 20 secs or more for even a very small file (50K) before it is opened. If I close the file once it was opened and click on another

strange phenomenon on CPU affinity
Hello, My testing machine has 2 quad-core CPU (It supports hyperthreading, but i disable it in BIOS). I uses Xen 4.0.1 as the hypervisor. When I use 8 VMs to conduct a test, CPU affinity of the VMs is very strange. Like this: vm_name vcpu_num cpu_affinity Domain-0 8 any VM1 4 1,3,5,7 VM2 4 1,3,5,7 VM3 4 1,3,5,7 VM4 4

astonishing memory phenomenon
I have a question concerning memory. I understood that R takes a fixed amount of memory at startup (which I can influence with --vsize --nsize) and that gc() shows the memory still free of the total memory reserved for R. However, if I create a long vector of character data, gc() only seem to reflect the space needed for a vector of pointers to char, the space used for the character data itself

Automating creation of OUs, security groups and GPOs, in Samba AD DC
Hai Mason, I only dont have the time to work this out now. But the 2 Stefan'ss have done this part. Script + proxymod : Stefan Kania, ask him if he is willing to share his vagrant vm setup. Preseed+script: Stefan W. : https://gist.github.com/stefangweichinger/66bfc5c6518c3838e5834287c681ae80 Look at line 220. You could change that to a script you make. And with something like this

What options do I have to create OUs and ACLs in Samba4?
I need to create a couple of OUs under Users to separate my internal users from my external users that have LDAP backed accounts so I can put ACLs over the external users so I can limit what they can see on the tree. What options do I have to create the OUs and the ACLs in a Samba4 AD-DC domain?

ACLs on OUs
Hi all, When created through RSAT OUs receive, by default, ACLs to refuse removal. When created through LDIF and ldbadd OUs do not receive these ACLs. Is there a way to create these ACLs using command line tools? Cheers, mathias

[LLVMdev] How to explain this weird phenomenon????????
My friends, I ran a function pass on a .bc file, intending to insert a CallInst to my self-made check function. The compilation is successful. BUT after I ran that pass on the .bc file, the size of the file didn't get any bigger!! Does this mean my instrumentation work failed?? BTW the opt command I use is "opt -load ../../../Debug+Asserts/lib/Hello.so -hello <hello.bc> -o

[LLVMdev] How to explain this weird phenomenon????????
Hi, my friends I finally insert the callInst into the hello.bc file. Then I compile the hello.bc to hello.o file and the check.c to check.o file. And I think by link those to .o file togetherI can get the executable ELF file(clang hello.o check.o -o finalfile). But when I link the two objective file, it said "hello.o: In function `main': hello.bc:(.text+0x69): undefined reference to
