Why (&(objectClass=sambaDomain)(sambaDomainName=SARDINE))?
I have a member server that is constantly querying the LDAP server with - (&(objectClass=sambaDomain)(sambaDomainName=SARDINE)) - when security=domain and workgroup=backbone. The server DOES authenticate domain users, and everything seems to work, but this draining resources. This is RH9, Samba 3.0.3pre2 (although I'm pretty certain I saw this on 3.0.2) and OpenLDAP openldap-2.1.25-1

Samba/Cracklib Documentation?
I'm testing Samba 3.0.3pre2 and am particularly interested in the new --with-cracklib support. I see the configuration directive to enable cracklib functionality in the changelog, but am curious if anyone has any additional documentation. The man pages, etc... appear not to be updated yet. Is there any mechanism for 'tweaking' the password strenth rules, as there is with

Password Expirey
Is there anyway to expire password for windows clients with a Samba (in my case recent alpha version)? I found a post the TNG parameter "password expire time = 10" but a "strings smbd | grep expire" didn't turn in up in the binary. Anyone have any ideas if this is possble (I see it posted frequently to the archives, but no answers). Systems and Network Administrator

Winbind trouble when on the DC
I have a situation where I want to do some authentication via ntlm_auth on my DC. I've tested this on my test box (a domain member) and it works perfectly. On domain member - tor:~ # /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=adam --domain=BACKBONE --password=******** NT_STATUS_OK: Success (0x0) On domain controller - littleboy:~ # /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=adam --domain=BACKBONE

lattice: showing panels for factor levels with no values
How to show panels for factor levels of conditioning variables which do have no values? E.g. there are panels for "Grand Rapids" when they have values: data( barley ) with( barley, dotplot(variety ~ yield | year * site, layout=c(6,2) ) ) There are no panels for "Grand Rapids" when there are no values for "Grand Rapids": my.barley <- subset( barley, ! Réf. : Re: Re: Authenticateing DC's on an ldap backend... nobody knows how?
I know, but I want to say that samba manage machine group same as a other group, not for Domain Users and Domain Admin group. You can create a group for machine account but, I think that actually is not very important for samba domain. I can be mistaken. ----------------------------------- St?phane PURNELLE stephane.purnelle@corman.be Service Informatique Corman

Why %M makes two log files?
I use log.%M to get per client logs. S4 AD Domain Up; but lots of NTLMSSP NTLM2 errors
samba-4.0.0 x86_64, CentOS6.3 My Samba4 / AD is up and running after migrating this weekend. Testing looked good and the domain *is working* but there are some issues. My log.samba file is full of the following; I'm not certain of the significance of these. cannot access files, directory browsing fine ...
Hello. I've just spent some time figuring out why on my RedHat ES server samba allowed me to connect, browse directories, but as soon as .exe was in the dir it would freeze. I couldn't open text files or anything else. It turns out that the Redhat kernel does not play well with 'sendfile' functionality. so I added: use sendfile = no and I'm back in the game. Anyone could

Legend Position
List, Is there any way to specify the position of the legend from within the following code? If so, how can I do it. As it stands it in the bottom left corner and I want to move it to the top right. I'm not sure if I can use the default "plot" or if I need to go with the lattice package. Suggestions much appreciated. plot(y, xlab="Survival Time (Months)",
