Significance of port 655?
Thanks, very informative!
I was able to generate this digraph and I'm pleased with it since it
appears that all my servers behind bastion are directly connected, but
nodes outside are not and are routed via bastion

Here is the digraph itself, if the above link is not accessible:

This port is officially reserved for tinc. It is also below number 1024,
which means that on most operating systems, only a priviliged user can
listen on that port, and prevents regular users from starting tinc on
port 655.
However, you don't have to use port 655,

Significance of port 655?
Hi
I'm new to tinc vpn and I am currently exploring a use-case we have, of
creating a secure mesh over which our own services may run.
This may be a basic question, I wasn't able to find a satisfying answer.
What is the significance of port 655 with regards to tinc?
Lets consider a 4 node setup: We have nodes:

Samba4: error in schema?
Hi
There seems to be a discrepancy in the s4 schema concerning security groups.
Domain Users comes with gidNumber: 100. This is however contrary to what
the schema allows. You can show this as follows:
Create a new group. samba-tool group add mygroup.
Use phpldapadmin to add the gidNumber attribute.
There is an error because gidNumber is provided by the posixGroup class
and that objectclass is

Host key verification (known_hosts) with ProxyJump/ProxyCommand
Hi all,
I noticed a bit of an odd issue with maintaining `known_hosts` when the
target machine is behind a bastion using `ProxyJump` or `ProxyCommand`
with host key clashes.
Client for me right now is OpenSSH_9.3p1 on Gentoo Linux/AMD64. I'm a
member of a team, and most of us use Ubuntu (yes, I'm a rebel). Another
team who actually maintain this fleet often access the same machines

smbldap-tools and phpldapadmin
All,
I suspect this is OT, or a solution may have been posted. Either way, I beg your
indulgence.
While I've used Samba for quite a few years, I recently took a stab at using it in an
organization I volunteer at to create a PDC, in conjunction with openldap. The good
news is it works, for the most part, after some set-up struggles. I have a couple of
remaining issues, but let me take them

How to set password on Samba4 using phpldapadmin?
Hi, I am running Samba version Version 4.1.0pre1-GIT-b53c5bc. Everything is

I'm able to set user password using samba-tool. However I would like to use
phpldapadmin to set password.
In the password field (while using phpldapadmin) I see several options like
md5 etc. Which option should I select? I tried

Multiplexing bug on client exit
Hi,
With the 20100127 snapshot, there appears to be a bug in the
multiplexing support that causes the master to die under some
circumstances when a slave session exits.
The error messages that I am getting are:

Connection to cfe1 closed.
