AD authentication problem
I'm having a problem authenticating to Active Directory. I can join
the machine to the domain, wbinfo -g/-u will list the groups and users
and I can map a drive using: smbclient -k //s-lorentz.s-res.uva.nl/c\$
However when I try to get the linux machine to authenticate a user
it doesn't work giving the error NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
(0xc000005e). Looking further in the logs it fails

Samba PDC & Squid NTLM Auth - Same machine
Hi Guys!
Probably this is not the best place to ask, I'll try anyway... =)
I've been trying to configure a Samba PDC and a Squid Porxy server
with NTLM auth on the same machine but NTML_AUTH keeps complaining
about: NT_STATUS_INVALID_HANDLE.... I have others machines running
Squid and Authenticating against a Samba Server but on different
machines, this is the first time a try both on

Winbind authentication
Hi everyone,
First of all, could you please CC me, I am not (yet) subscribed to this
list.
Now my problem:
I created a test setup at my office that uses winbind to authenticate linux
users to a Windows NT server (they log in with DOMAIN+username), as described
in the winbindd manpage. I followed their setup completely.
(at my work I am using RedHat 7.1 and the winbindd daemon found in the

Problem authenticating from standalone servers via Samba 3.0.34 domain member servers to Samba 3.2.5 domain controller
We recently upgraded our PDC from Debian 4 to Debian 5. That entailed
an upgrade of Samba from 3.0.24 to 3.2.5. Since the upgrade we've had
a very specific problem connecting to shares on a commercial NAS
running Samba 3.0.34.
The problem happens when users try to connect to shares from
standalone servers--e.g., Windows XP Pro boxes that we use for
testing. From those boxes users should be

Winbind ADS Issues w/ *TONS* of Pre-Research
Samba Team,
I've been trying to get my Samba server to authenticate users against a
Windows 2000 Active Directory domain controller, and it just doesn't work.
I've encountered a TREMENDOUS amount of postings from people who have run
into the same issue, and there's never any responses with a resolution.
I must have viewed more than 500 postings over the course of the day.

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS if Domain Controller is absent
I have my Samba 3.0.21c Linux Server as Domain member (security=ADS) so
that domain users can use the Samba Server as shared file server.
Everything works nice if the domain controller is present, e.g.

weird winbind problem
I'm setting up a samba server that should authenticate against a samba
3.0 +Ldap PDC server.
This is the situation
1) getenet passwd and getent group are ok
2) wbinfo -t -> checking the trust secret via RPC calls succeeded
3) wbinfo -g -> lists all the groups on PDC (nice!)
4) wbinfo -u -> lists all the users on PDC (nice again!)
the problem is wbinfo -a

Trusted domain user login
Greetings,
We are currently experiencing logon problems with a trusted domain user(s).
Example: We have DomainA and DomainB
DomainA and DomainB both have workstations joined on their respective
domain.
DomainA and DomainB both have trust relationships. DomainA trusts DomainB
and vise versa.
DomainA is where being served by a Samba PDC, while DomainB has a PDC using

Cannot Authenticate against AD ...
Hey all,
I have a Windows 2000 AD PDC that hosts a domain. He also trusts our
existing Windows NT domain (2-way trust, they both trust each other). I
also have a Gentoo Linux machine that I have compiled Samba 3.0 on. I
can get almost everything to work with regards to talking to the Windows
2k PDC, like this:
mccoy samba # wbinfo -u

Permissions on Samba share for Windows users
I'm working with Samba 3 on my Gentoo box. So far setting up
andconfiguring Samba w/ldap and krb5 support is pretty straight
forwared. My Gentoo box is now a member server of the domain, shows up
in Active Directory.
I can get a kerbereos ticket from our W2K PDC and connect to windows
shares with as little effort as:
smbclient //server/share -k
Now I'm ready to start moving into

Hello,
I've established an interdomain trust relationship between SAMBA and
Windows.
Samba domain users can log into the Windows domain, but Windows domain
users can't log to the SAMBA server.
For example, if I try to log as "ADTEST/dupond" from Windows to SAMBA,
SAMBA log says:

Host NTFS Shares on Samba Server?
Running Samba 2.2.8a
I have a secondary hard drive (100GB) full of desktop images that I
would like to share. The drive is installed in my Samba server and
currently setup in fstab as:
/dev/hda2 /mnt/myntfs ntfs defaults 0 0
This allows root access read permissions.
Can I setup my Samba server to allow domain admins to access the data on
this secondary drive?
Please advise,

Recording problems, reinvites
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone else has been observing problems lately with
1.4.18 and higher releases of asterisk not properly recording calls.
When using MixMonitor, the resulting file is only a few bytes long.
I think this is because asterisk is doing Native bridging even though
MixMonitor should block that.
Did something change around the release of 1.4.18 that would have
changed
