old print jobs go away!!
Hello, My name is Shane Drinkwater. I am having some problems with samba and printing. It seems that old print jobs will not leave the printer status screen on my 2000/xp clients. It looks to me that the tdb for the offending printer is not being purged when a print job completes. info Fedora Core 5 X86 Samba 3.0.24 smb.conf [global] #================== remote Annouce Settings

Problems with slow printing
Hello, My name is Shane Drinkwater. I have had a problem since samba-3.0.25 with printing being very, very slow. It takes about 15- 30 seconds for the print dialog box to appear. After selecting OK the print happens in a reasonable time. File serving performance seems to be similar to previous revs of samba. I did read the "Problems with slow printing (and name resolving?)" thread. I do

Problem upgrading to 3.0.4 and ArcServe
Hi, Since I had upgraded from Samba 3.0.0 to 3.0.4 I have problems with ArcServe to connect to the share. Arcserve is running on a NT 4.0 box, everytime I try to connect to the samba share it says me "authenticacion failed". When I browse the share from windows explorer I have not problems. Thank you in advance Guillermo

[Bridge] Bridging on broken Broadcom hardware.
Greetings (first post to the list)... The following patch is required to allow bridging to occur on an IBM x305 (1RU server). (It has been posted to the kernel-developers mailing list previously.) Background: - The Dual Broadcom NICs in the IBM x305 have a broken checksum routine which wants to calculate the checksum the ethernet packet where the 'source' IP address is the IP

IBM x305 slowdown?
Hello: I have an odd problem with an IBM EServer XSeries 305 (aka x305). Sometimes it seems to just sit there, completely unresponsive to the command line (ssh and console), for several seconds. Other times it works normally. top will sometimes die with a floating point error while waiting for it to start. When top does work, it often shows a system load of 0.5, with high interrupt load. At

help ---IAX2 with zaptel timming.
I have setup iax2 between two servers without success. when I launch asterisk with the asterisk -vvvvvgcd command I see serveral wanings listed below. Is this why I cannot make connections?? My question is, how do I setup zaptel timming without any cards if possible? Does anyone have the steps? Thanks for any information. James [chan_iax2.so] => (Inter Asterisk eXchange (Ver 2)) Apr

Zaptel and ztdummy and timming question
Do the Zaptel cards actually have a timer that it supplies to Asterisk or is the phone company supplying the timer to the card that is then passed to Asterisk?

package compilation on OSX 10.8 -- error compiling Fortran library for architecture i386
I am developing a package for analysis of seismic data that relies on a Fortran library. Package compilation works fine on Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise but fails for R 2.15.3 on Mac OSX 10.8.4. I've included the entire dump below but the relevant error message seems to be: ld: warning: ignoring file libmseed/libmseed.a, file was built for archive > which is not the architecture being

MusicOnHold Loudness/Distortion
For whatever reason, the music on hold is extremely distorted and loud. It didn't used to be this way and I haven't changed anything, yet it persists. This is on all the channels we use (SIP, IAX2, Zap, ALSA). Can anyone help with this, or has anyone seen this? The mp3s play fine on any computer and haven't changed since they did work. DIAX - Can place a call, but can't be called?!
Greetings, DIAX seems to work well placing calls, but I can't actually receive a call . Here, DIAX (x305) "registers", then I use a sip phone to place a call to DIAX (which definitely is not in use by me at debug time, but it is idle on my desktop.I think), and then * goes to vmail. Here's the debug output: affinity*CLI> iax debug IAX Debugging Enabled Rx-Frame Retry[N/A]

Charles, the out from the command below as well as the system.log file are below your email. It does look like a permission issue but what one? Question on support for Upsonic Commercial UPS CXR 2000 - 2000VA/1200W - Rack/Tower on Freebsd 9.1.
Thx Charles, So since this is a new type of UPSonic UPS, do you think the vendor screwed up or is it just some quirk on Freebsd? Yes, if you can look into this I would appreciate it. I do not see anyone else on the Web attempting to use this new device yet.....but....... Regards chris On 2/6/14, 8:24 AM, Charles Lepple wrote: > On Feb 6, 2014, at 8:41 AM, Chris Duffy wrote: > >>

Charles, We run everything as "root" :) However, we are using NUT 2.6.5. Are we missing something by running 2.6.5 rather then 2.7.1? If so, I can build/install 2.7.1. ISDN / Analog
Phil, It sounds like your carrier is just using a channel bank to split off six of your E1 channels into analog FXO ports. You will want this for fax lines, security systems, and dialup connections since doing this over VoIP/Asterisk can be problematic. It is best to keep these lines out of the PBX. I have done several implementations on IBM x305 and x306 servers and they work great. I
