Headers update frequency in local repo
Hi all,
I'm trying to build a local repo as a mirror of basic repos ([Basic],
[Update],[Addons], [Extras],[CentOSPlus]) and popular third part repos
([Dries],[DAG] and [kbs]). The doubt I have is
?Is needed that I regenerate the repo headers [1] every time when I've
updated the local mirror repo [2]?
[1] Eliminate old headers and generate new ones with createrepo script.

Create Local CentOS 5.1 repo
I am trying to create a local base repo from the DVD on a webserver as I am not able to install with the x64 DVD. I have done this before I recall by placing the DVD contents in the root of an empty webserver, but I have many existing repo's on this current server and so I wanted to maintain the existing hierarchy structure.
I tried using the createrepo command and neither that nor copying

rsync 5.1 base repo question
I have built my repo by copying the content of the ISO images,
maintaining the date.
When I test with:
rsync -avun rsync://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.1/os/i386/ \
--exclude=debug/ /repos/centos/5.1/os/i386
the only file listed is:
CentOS/yum-kernel-module-1.0.4-3.el5.centos.2.noarch.rpm
Which I did not get from the ISOs.
but if I leave off the -u option, the list is VERY long. Why?

update from local repo mirror
so this may be an odd question, but my google fu seems to be failing me.
I've created a local mirror of centos 5 & 6 with various instructions
across the net, it seems to be functional, syncs on a regular basis,and is
generally usable (I've built machines with kickstart/netboot from it and
they seem generally workable). my difficulty comes up when I try to use

Local repo sqlite files?
Hi all,
I'm updating a customised CentOS 5.2 repo to 5.4. After running createrepo,
I find all the usual .xml.gz files updated, but the sqlite.bz2 files have not
been touched. What is the significance of these files? If they need to be
updated, how is it done?

Captive Portal with Shorewall
.
"Saluton",
Sorry by my poor english, I speak Portuguese.
I does a captive portal using:
- shorewall
- dhcpd
- thttpd (in port 8080)
- maradns
With Shorewall I use dinamic zones.
The initial zone in shorewall is
configured to redirects access to
internal thttpd port 8080, that
shows a login.cgi page.
With thttpd I rewrite original url.
The apache rewrite is very cool, but

Excluding packages from mirrored repo
The RPMForge Tools list appears to be dead, so maybe someone here can
help:
I am mirroring the Centos4 updates repo using mrepo. My systems are all
servers and have no need of OpenOffice, so I would like to be able to
exclude the 4GB (i386 & x86_64) of OpenOffice rpms when I mirror the
repo. I have looked at the mrepo docs and done some Google searches,
but so far, I haven't come across

package: ignores "source"; "provider" doesn''t work as advertised?
Hi
I¹m not sure if I¹m misunderstanding, however, when I try the following:
class thttpd {
package { thttpd:
version => "2.25b-4.2",
source =>
"http://dag.wieers.com/packages/thttpd/thttpd-2.25b-4.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm"
}
[snip other code]
}
On fedora core 5, the ³source² is ignored: yum is used to pull the package

Creating a personal repo
Hello,
I'm wanting to create a yum repo for what is at this point rpm
development for personal use, i might eventually open it up but right now i
have some rpms i need to debug. I've installed createrepo but the docs i've
read indicate that i have to install the base distros rpms, in repos i've
seen via a webview they only had packages that they built in the repo.
Thanks.
Dave.

Problems with reposync and createrepo on CentOS 7 for RHEL8/CentOS8 repo?
Hi,
I tried to reproduce the issue but without success, everything seems
to be working fine (I've copied
repodata directory created by the reposync on Centos7 machine to RHEL8
server to /tmp/pg12repo directory):
RHEL8 # dnf search postgresql12 --repofrompath=a,/tmp/pg12repo --repoid=a

Correct subsetting in R
It's not what I want, the first data frame has 499 observations and the second data frame is a subset of the first one but with 375 observations. I want something that returns the ID for training data frame
