Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login

What error message, *specifically*, comes up when the user with the expired
password attempts to change it?

Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login
Thanks for the help, however I don't think your suggestion applies in my
case. On a fresh install of Samba 4.7.4 AD you cannot change a user
password on a logged in PC through cntl-alt-del -> ChangePassword
because the default MinAge is 1 days. I had to use the "samba-tool
domain passwordsettings set --min-pwd-age=0" command to make the
logged-on style of password change

Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login
I can only share my experience:
domain with only samba DC's (started from samba 4.4 updated to 4.7 in
the meantime), windows clients (vista, 7, 8.1 and 10) no problem
whatsoever, passwords are changed every X days, and users have no
problem with the procedure (prompt "your password has expired" -> user
enters new password -> "you password was changed" -> OK)

Windows password changing and syncing
I thought I was doing well with samba. I have numerous samba / gnu-Linux
networks running well. Now I have one customer that wants to do something
that I cannot get the software to do. All he wants to do is have his users
change their passwords from the Windows passwords control panel. It seems
like such a simple request but I cannot for the life of me get it to work on
my test network.
I have

Changing LDAP password from Windows XP
I've got a very simple setup with Samba 3.0.24 running on Fedora Core 6,
talking to Fedora Directory Server 1.0.4. I've got everything set up so
that I can add computers to the domain, add users using the smbldap-
tools, and have users logging in. When a user tries to change their
password from within Windows (ctrl-alt-del) they get the error

Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login
I went back and re-installed on a clean VM of Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 and
built Samba 4.7.4 with default configuration and it works just fine to
change expired passwords at login. I should have tested this default
configuration a while back.
I was trying to use MIT Kerberos instead of Hemidal and had followed all
the directions on this link:

Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login
Ok, so I tried all the suggestions without success.
Unless I hear back from someone saying it is NOT possible for a user to
change an expired password during login from a Domain account on a Samba
4.7.4 AD domain (only 1 DC, and I also tried latest dev release), then I
will proceed with more in-depth troubleshooting, log file debugging, and
mock-up VM's in order to determine what is

Changing Windows password complexity error dialog box
Hello,
I have a Samba PDC on which I use the "check password script" option in
smb.conf to enforce a specific password complexity policy when the XP
user changes his password with Ctrl-Alt-Del.
This works fine, but when the password does not comply with the password
complexity policy, XP shows the following dialog box:
"The password supplied does not meet the minimum complexity

Windows user password changing with Samba + LDAP + smbldap tools

This is what I have in my smb.conf:

passwd chat = "*New password :*\n" %n "*new password :*\n" %n
unix password sync = Yes
According to "man smb.conf", smbldap-passwd is invoked as root so the
passwd chat should be fine.
Problem is it

Can't change password with Windows XP (Change password feature)
Hello Everyone,
I've been trying to figure out why I can't change passwords with my windows
clients. I thought that at when I first built my smb.conf I could.
I'm running RHEL3 (I also have another system at a different location running
FC3 with the same problem ).
I've been looking through my smb.conf (see excerpts):
