Samba ADS domain member issues
Hi, I am having problems configuring my Centos 4 server as an ADS domain
member of our 2003 AD. I've followed the instructions on samba.org and
did quite a bit of Google'ing and haven't found an answer to the problems.
Basically I used the configuration illustrated in this section of the
howto, and of course a number of other suggestions I've found along the way:

FreeBSD Samba Binary Package
Hi,
The Samba URL http://us3.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/ does not seem
to have a FreeBSD binary package. I tried a web search but to no avail. I
have searched the samba list archives and i could not find any pointers
either. Any assistance would be most welcome
Thanks in Advance,

Problem joining linux box to active directory domain
Hello, I'm having a hard time joining one linux server to an active
directory domain. I've searched everywhere for a solution but was
unsuccessful:
I went to samba.org and followed the examples in
http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/
The examples are great... My scenario is described in chapter 7
(http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...ts.html#adssdm)
It explains how to make

Wireshark would not run from the KDE menu without editing the menu to

Local groups invisible (ldapsam & 3.0.23b, 3.0.23c)
Hello all,
I'm running samba3 as domain controller.
I have upgraded samba from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23b and faced an issue
with groups display: samba does not see any groups.
"net rpc group -U Administrator" returns empty set.
usrmgr.exe does not show any groups also.
Groups are present in ldap, nss_ldap works fine:
# id asv
uid=2005(asv) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users),

Mirror site down?
http://us3.samba.org
I get nothing but empty HTML pages when I try to access this
particular mirror. Is something wrong with the mirror or is
it something on my end? Anyone else who sees blank pages?
Other mirrors seem to be working fine.

Binaries for AIX 5.1
Hi,

The ones availables on Samba's FTP (
http://us3.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/AIX/ ) are given for AIX
5.2 or 5.3 (what is said in the README)
I found references to 3.0.21 packages (like in this message
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2006-January/116792.html ) that had
existed, but this one is no longer avaible :(
So, do

trouble joining AD domain.
Hi all,
I'm running samba-3.0.25b w/Linux 2.6.16.27 (SUSE 10.1), newly compiled.
I've joined the AD domain (which is a subdomain) whose PDC is Win2K3
server and which is running in native mode but allowing NT4 members.
From the HOWTO, I followed the instructions - manually created the
computer account, then did the "net rpc join ...." and successfully
joined the AD
