OpenSSH-portable with md5-passwords
Hiya guyz, I have a quick question, and wondering if you give me some insight on this. One of our machine's is running Slackware 7.1 with openssh 1.5.(it was configured --with-md5-passwords) Apparently I can't ssh to accounts which the password function hashes to a field with '$' symbols in it, as reported in /etc/shadow. Is this a well-known bug of OpenSSH version 1.5? I would

Compile SSH static on Solaris 2.7 (64Bit)
I like to compile ssh-3.0.2 on Solaris 2.7 with 64 Bit support in static mode. But I get a fatal error. The compilation with shared libraries is working very fine. Does anyone has ideas to compile OpenSSH cleanly in static mode? gcc -static -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wno-uninitialized -I. -I. -I/usr/local/include -DETCDIR=\"/etc/ssh\" -D_PATH_SSH_PROGRAM =\"/usr/ssh/bin/ssh\"

rsync 3.0.9 segmentation fault
Hi, I am experiencing segfaults when transferring files via rsync though sudo. Setup: - Backupserver initiates the rsync command with --delete -vvv --no-inc-recursive --numeric-ids --delete-excluded --relative --rsync-path=/home/backupuser/rsync-wrapper.sh - rsync-wrapper.sh (on the client) contains /usr/bin/sudo /usr/bin/rsync "$@"; - user "backupuser" has sudo access to the

Extremly slow (3-4k/s) on Win clients while Linux clients work fine
Hi, I've migrated a Win2k fileserver to Samba 3.0.33 on Gentoo (Kernel 2.6.28). While the Linux clients work fine, I get the absolutely worst transferrates on Win (XP Prof + Vista) like 3-4k/s (compared to ~10MB/s on Linux). When copying larger files on Windows, they start this slow, but the transfer becomes faster after some time like 2Mbit/s via WLAN which would be acceptable. I've

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
I pulled the test directory from 2003, but everything else from 2005. The 2005 files have more ?cross-compiling? targets than the 2003 ones. I fixed the various missing files in the new 2008 projects (misc.c and one other other are gone now). The only thing you could do which would make them more compact would be to get rid of the subdirectories under each vs-version. There is no real need for

rsync 3.0.9 segmentation fault
Hi Roland, Thanks for the reply. Memory usage on both machines seem fine. The server has 4GB's of RAM, of which about 3GB is used during the file list build and about 1.5GB is used during the actual transfer. The client has 16GB of RAM with a peak usage of 8.5GB. I just tried three transfers in a row and it consistently breaks at a certain point, after which I get the "ERROR: out of
