all machine password changes fail
None of the Win 2000 workstations on my Samba 3.02 network is able to change its password. Every machine's event log contains error messages every 30 days like this: Changing machine account password for account P2450-2$ failed with the following error: The stub received bad data. For the machines that are restarted every day, the error message only appears once or twice evey 30 days. For

Stub error changing machine account password
Forgive me if this gets double posted, but I've been struggling with this Gmane way of using the mailing list. (A good idea that doesn't work and results in lots of spam and viruses, but that's another story). About 3 weeks ago I upgraded our samba server from 2.2.8a on RedHat 7.3 to 3.0 on Fedora. The samba server is a PDC. The following error message appears in the event log on

Repost: Can't connect to my smb share from Win machine
Hello list, could somebody please point me to the information (tutorial) how to configure this properly, or where is the problem? I need to access the share without authentication (it's an isolated home network)... It used to work on FC3 but I can't figure it out on FC6 :-( By the way, there's a typo in the original post: the windows machine is W98 not 95. thanks Marek --- Marc

Uniden UIP200 Review (Repost)
Hello Everyone, My company is about to deploy * as replacement for our existing commercial Altigen PBX. Meanwhile, I've been trying to find the best cost effective SIP VoIP phone which we can use in office for 20-30 employees, as well as a few remote staff. Normally I wouldn't post about a VoIP phone, however, this phone was released less than a week so I thought I'd give some

REPOST: queuepause/queueresume and w2k machines, won' t work
[Shane Drinkwater] Daniel, I have the same probelm. These are the steps I did in a previous thread... Jim, I think I found another bug... I really seem to be in printer hell :(.... I found that windows 2k doesn't update its status "ready" or "paused" when used with samba. Here is what I did... 1.) enable all of the lpr/lpd queues. check em' with lpq... 2.)

Repost: Examples of "classwt", "strata", and "sampsize" in randomForest?
Sorry for the repost, but I've really been looking, and can't find any syntax direction on this issue... Just browsing the documentation, and searching the list came up short... I have some unbalanced data and was wondering if, in a "0" v "1" classification forest, some combo of these options might yield better predictions when the proportion of one class is low (less

Repost: Aastra BLF directed pickup: anyone have this pickup-mgernoth file?
Hello all Sorry for the repost, but I believe this is essential for Aastra phones to use directed pickup with BLF in 1.2 (and it's still experimental in 1.4 I think). pickup-mgernoth-2006-07-28.patch.txt If anyone knows otherwise than that this is still required in latest 1.2 or 1.4 please reply with success/failure stories. Any info would be appreciated. We can get directed BLF pickup

Hi Repost of an earlier question, getting desperate here, Googled, searched mailing lists, but no solution yet... Anyway, I have a RH EL 3 server running Samba 3.0.7 that joins a NT 4 domain and uses winbind to enable SSO and all that good stuff. All seems fine, joins domain OK, wbinfo -u, wbinfo -g, getent passwd, getent group all seems to work fine I have home template = /home/winnt/%D/%U in

printing from W98 to Samba/Cups [repost]
[repost] I've recently set up a TAO Linux box, which has SAmba 3.0.2 and Cups 1.1.17. I have a Lexmark Optra Color 40 Postscript inkjet printer directly attached to the parallel port, and working. After considerable pain I was able to get XP Home to print to that printer (using the 15 step method, as the simple method kept refusing to work). Now I'm trying to get Windoze 98 to print to

Blank page when sending faxes (repost)
Guys, [Forgive this repost -- my original posting doesn't seem to have shown up in the list (yet)] I have been trying to send a fax using spandsp/app_rtxfax/asterisk. I'm trying to send a (3 page) fax, and all I'm receiving is a single blank page (and I've tried it with 2 fax machines). As some background, I'm using asterisk with an E1 connection through a Sangoma WAN card
