There were still a bit too many bugs in RC1, so here's RC2. Hopefully this will be stable enough to become v2.2.19 final. Please test now rather than wait for v2.2.19 final, since v2.2.20 is unlikely to arrive anytime soon (unless there are some major problems).

ext3 htree issues
Hi Guys,
I am running ext3 on kernel v2.6.5.
I have an ext3 filesystem with dir_index and data=journal for
/var/spool/exim
Today I noticed in the exim logs a bunch of 'failed to unlink
/var/spool/exim/input/P/1BRbSP-0006hy-Jp-D'
I also noticed these in the kernel logs:
EXT3-fs warning (device hda12): ext3_unlink: Deleting nonexistent file

status of dir_index in 2.4 kernels ?
Hi,
I stumbled on the dir_index option of recent ext2 implementation which
would be interesting for our mailservers (running dovecot with maildir)
and found out that the newer ext2progs are able to cope with it; the 2.6
kernels do also but for the 2.4 kernels I still require a patch. Is that
correct? Which patch would be the correct one to apply to the current
2.4.27 kernel ? Can anybody

ext3 and 2.2.19
Hi All,
Has anyone had a similar problem with ext3?
A 75 gig partition in 24x7 use for about 2 weeks - no problems.
Today I ran bonnie++ on the partition to get a feel for the performance,
with ext3 and quotas enabled.
The box started swapping like crazy on and abruptly froze at at the
'Delete files in random order' step.
There was no kernel error messages or the like. This partition

Hi all,
Can anyone please advise if it is possible to mount a Windows share and
view files with chinese filenames ?
I am able to view the files on the local disk, however the files on the
Windows share display as ??????.htm
I have tried mounting with the following commands
smbmount //xxxxxxxx/filesync /mnt/filesync -o
username=xxxxx,codepage=cp950,isocharset=utf8
or
mount -t smbfs -o

ext3 htree upgrade
Hi Guys,
I am planning on upgrading an existing NFS exported filesystem to the
ext3 htree patch on kernel v2.4.23.
Will the patch index directories automatically after tune2fs -O
dir_index or should I do an e2fsck -Dfy on the filesystem before
remounting?

EXT3 Journal Creation Problem
Hi Guys,
When I try to create an ext3 journal on a new fs, I receive the
following error. This is all under Kernel v2.4.17 and e2fs tools v1.25:
File size limit exceeded
Running e2fsck on it afterwords gives:
e2fsck -y /dev/sdc1
e2fsck 1.25 (20-Sep-2001)
Superblock has a bad ext3 journal (inode 8).
Clear? yes

search problem dovecot 2.2.21 + fts - Solr
Hello,
Realized update dovecot on my server. Now the search is returning
differently from the previous version bringing reference information of
other messages .
For example when doing a search for anderson.joao this new version of the
dovecot dovecot 2.2.21 + fts - Solr response will be all email that has the
word anderson and joao, instead of returning only items with the word
anderson.joao.

I am getting stuck over an apparently simple problem in the use of regular expressions :
To collect together the first letters of the words from the Perl motto, ?There is more than one way to do it? in the following form ? TIMTOWTDI.
I tried the following code :

kernel panic with ext3 and cbq
Hello,
I'm usign Kernel 2.2.19 with ext3 0.0.7b patches. I'm also
using cbq to control bandwidth. The cbq is correctly creating
the classes and queueing disciplines but, whenever I call cbq stop
I get a kernel panic:
> Aiee, killing interrupt handler
> Kernel panic: Attempted to kill idle task!
> In interrupt handler - not syncing
The exact line in cbq script that is

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi,
No, I tried fetching over imapc too exactly as you suggested.
In my case it was not from cyrus, but from CriticalPath.
isync was finally able to do the job, preserving flags and doing UIDs
mapping. The most boring part was generating proper config file for
thousands of accounts.
A working imapc/dsync would have been better.
Emmanuel.

FTS lucene and english + german mails
Hi,
I'm currently looking over the FTS pages to enable it in my dovecot.
But I'm unsure what the best settings of the lucene plugin are, if you
receive german and english mails.
Wiki says:
textcat_conf=<path> textcat_dir=<path>: If specified, enable guessing
the stemming language for emails and search keywords. This is a little
bit problematic in practice, since indexing and

Compiling v2.2.19 - internal compiler error: segmentation fault (test-timing.c -> int64_t issue?)
Hi,
I am trying to compile a 64-build of the latest dovecot v2.2.19 on my SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x64) system.
I've run ./configure with two parameters, the --prefix one and the --with-ssldir one.
During the make stage, I am getting the following 'internal compiler error' message :

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
v2.2.19 has many fixes related to dsync+imapc, which were found while migrating several million users from GMail. I'm not aware of any problems with it now. Also even before v2.2.19 dsync+imapc has been used to successfully do many large migrations.
