default roaming profile for Samba 3.0.2a / WinXP P
Hi togeteher, Config: Server: Samba 3.0.2a as PDC, no LDAP, no Kerberos Clients: WinXP Prof all working, dom-Logons are ok. When I add a new linux-user, there ist a default profile for the linux-user in the skel-directory. Does Samba provide a 'skel-profile' for new samba-users (=domain- users). If so, where do I have to put the default profile and do I have to set special owner /

Question about levels/as.numeric
Hi, I am still new to R and this is my first post on this mailing-list. I have two .csv (each one being a column of real numbers) coming from the same database (the first one is just longer than the second) and I read them in R the following way: returns <- read.csv("test.csv", header = FALSE) returns2 <- read.csv("test2.csv", header = FALSE) However, the two

Random behavior of mclapply
Hi, I wondered about the behavior described in the following stackoverflow question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20674538/mclapply-returns-null-randomly More specifically, I would like to know if you ever considered the suggestion made in the comments of the first answer, namely to somehow warn the user if one of the processes has been killed by the out-of-memory killer ? I am always

little bit OT: Profile for new domain user
Hi there, SuSE 8.2 Prof.+Samba 3.0.3 / WinXP Prof clients: I made a script to create new users (creates homedir, sets permissions, creates personalized logon-batch, creates smbpasswd and something more). When the new user logs in for the first time from the client-machine (domain-logon, only domain-users, no local users), he gets default profile with the xp-style menus and so on. I tried

Openldap + Samba 3 PDC
I'm trying to get Samba up but I can't seem to get the LDAP connection working correctly. I can run a search from ldapsearch, but samba is complaining that it can't connect. Here's the error from log.smbd [2004/12/29 16:04:04, 0] lib/smbldap.c:smbldap_connect_system(850) failed to bind to server with dn= cn=Manager Error: Invalid credentials [2004/12/29 16:04:04, 1]

Roaming profiles on WinXP SP1 and samba....
Hi Everyone, I have read as much as I can find about this subject and still am no closer to understanding why my roaming profiles are not working correctly. I have an existing Samba server with RP working. Now I need to move this to new server due to HW failure on original server. Configs almost identical. Profiles now reside on a different partition, but I' ve told samba where to find them.

WinXP Roaming Profiles - Samba 3.0b1 Problem
Hello, My company has decided to upgrade everyone from win98 to winXP. So, I've begun the process of setting up a test network to test samba with winXP before the XP rollout begins. I downloaded samba-3.0b1 a couple weeks ago, compiled it, and started configuring it. For the most part everything has been a breeze. I have a winXP SP1a machine on the test network that currently sees

winXP sp1 seems to break roaming profiles on samba3
I applied sp1 and get a message saying that the "a server copy of the profile exists that does not have the correct security. Either the current user or the Administrator's group must be the owner of the folder." the owner of the profile is correct... It works again when I re-image back to pre sp1 there is an event in the security log saying... Logon Failure: Reason: An error

WinXP SP1 breaks roaming profiles.
We've applied SP1 for WinXP on several machines and now roaming profiles don't work them. I tried swithching "nt acl support = yes" as previously mentioned on this list but this still doesn't work for us and we continue to get the following error: Windows did not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile

Roaming Profiles - WinXP and Win7
Hello All, Today I was able to implement Samba4 as a DC with AD in a test environment. I eventually got it all working and was able to join the domain from two different virtual machines. I was also able to set up a roaming profile share and configure a user to utilize this share. My issue is that when I first logged into the domain after setting up the roaming profiles I did so from a

`mgp[1:3]' are of differing sign (PR#14130)
Full_Name: Cornell Gonschior Version: 2.10.0 OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (212.201.28.40) Hi, in the introduction to R, you can find the following sentence in the par() chapter: "Use tck=0.01 and mgp=c(1,-1.5,0) for internal tick marks." I thought that's nice, because I wanted to have tick marks and tick labels inside and the axis title outside. But: > plot(z, las=1,

winxp roaming profiles and samba group access rights
Howdy People, I have a problem with roaming profiles in samba 3.0.5 on redhat9 ( installed from the rpm with rpm -Uv samba.3.0.5.rpm I am not using LDAP ( dont know how and as I am a Netware person on a very steep learning curve with Samba, didn't want to complicate the installation after seeing every second posting on this list as a ldap problem). The smb.conf file is listed below. The

incompatibility between roaming profiles and winxp clients that didn't create them
[samba v3.0.24, gentoo w/ kernel 2.6.15] I'm hoping someone has some insight into the following problem that I've recently encountered: Basically, winxp seems to be creating roaming profiles that are incompatible with another winxp client. I've got two sets of winxp clients, which I'll call 'new' and 'old'. Profiles created (and perfectly usable) by the old

Joining a domain with a non-administrator account
I'm trying to set it up so I can join the domain with a regular user that is part of the domain admin group. I have a user dsonenberg that is in the domain admin group(512), but I can't join the domain with that account. For the record I can login with that account and Administrator can join the domain. The PDC has an LDAP backend. Here's the log. 2005/02/08 10:26:25, 2]

Roaming Profiles:Samba PDC:WinXP:User must be local admin
I'm having a problem with Roaming profiles in Windows XP with Samba as PDC. I've googled and trolled the mailing lists and read the Samba documentation. Problem: User logs onto domain from WinXP client and profile is downloaded (you can tell because it takes a long time and lights on hub are lit up). However, unless that user is in the admin group locally, all/some of the profile

Load Balancing over multiple NICS
I was currious about setting up load balancing for my company fileserver. This machine get's heavy usage and we would like to load balance the traffic over two 1 Gigabit NICS. How would this be best accomplished? Should we set up a firewall rules that will NAT for that machine or does samba have a built in mechinism? -- David Sonenberg Systems / Network Administrator Stroz Friedberg,

WinXP Client with Samba 2.2.3a PDC
I am having trouble with everything *except* joining the client to the domain. WinXP Pro clients join the domain via the Samba-PDC howto, all works well. Trying to browse other domain resources or attempts to logon via the "domain" bring up this error in log.smbd: [2002/03/14 01:14:36, 0] rpc_server/srv_samr.c:api_samr_set_userinfo(670) api_samr_set_userinfo: Unable to unmarshall
