Hello all, I'm having an issue with adding machine accounts to a Samba 3.0.0 PDC with an LDAP passwd db backend. This is on a RedHat 9 with an rpm I compiled from the 3.0.0 release. I have configured samba to where it is using LDAP and able to add user accounts and group mappings to LDAP, but when I try to add a computer account using smbpasswd -a -m data it is not able to add the account.

Hi, We're trying to set up a Red Hat 9 box as a BDC for a domain, the PDC for that domain is another RH9 machine. To do it we're using samba 2.2.7a and openLDAP 2.0.7 in both machines. We've followed the instructions from the Samba-PDC-Howto and Samba-BDC-Howto from the samba.org. I see that samba4 will have it's own LDAP database. How will the support for OpenLDAP be? if anyone knows. Will I have the option to use OpenLDAP still for all the new features so as to be able to use current apps that use OpenLDAP already? If anyone has info regarding this, it would be appreciated. Atribute shadowExpire has a unix time stamp value. Is there a way to write pass_filter like shadowExpire<ToDay?
