Hello, I'm trying to use smbutil with the user/pass/host argument. I have no problem using it this way.... smbutil -v view //user@host Password: ******* but if I try this way.... smbutil -v view //user:pass@host it prompts me for a password when I already specific it in my command line. Am I using the right syntax? Please let me know. Thanks. Tom

this module doesn't seem to want to work on anything but a root ubuntu filesystem. It won't work on any external drives or secondary drives just the main one. This poses as a problem for a system with several drives. if i delete on a secondary drive of any sort with any use in a samba share over smb i get the folders placed in the recycle bin but no file. I have installed Samba onto a BSD machine. The program to work, however it not being seen on the network through the network neighborhood. What could be my problem? Michael Brown

When I set: wins support = yes time server = yes my wins service stops working and no computers show up in the network neighborhood..as soon as I change time server = no, they start to re-populate. I have looked around and havent found a definitive answer (apologies if I overlooked it)... but if someone could tell me if this is a documented issue, or just me that woudl be great Thanks

Hi, I have installed the samba-1.9.17p3 on our Solaris 2.5.1 (named 'dor-ent1') and Linux (named 'iserver'). They work when I test out 'smbclient -L dor-ent1' from Linux machine and vice-versa. I also can map the directories on 'dor-ent1' or 'iserver' to my win95 machine using: 'net use * \\dor-ent1\tmp'.

I tried hardcoding it into the network card's settings, ensured the settings were there (ipconfig/all) and it did work on the first occasion. Hello, Whenever I reatart samba on my bsd or my linux machines windows 98 network neighborhood looses either machine, I've got samba set up as a wins server, and the 98 machine pointing to it, but this doesn't help. The 98 machine can see it's own shares, but not the samba server, any ideas? I'm running 98, freebsd 3.4 release, slackware linux 7.0 and samba 2.05 and 2.06. Thanks.

I am runnning Samba 2.2.3a which act as a NT workstation connecting to CNS-NT domain. When I tried to connect to Samba, \\Bigred\home is not accessible, you might not have permission to use this network resource. Any ideas? -Paul Hong
