Driver for Tripp Lite SmartPro SLT
I have a new SMART1050SLT Tripp Lite UPS that both tripplite and tripplitesu drivers hate. Both simply time out with a "can't find" message. Does anyone know about the SmartPro series?

Printing vs. iptables
Recently, Windows 2000 SP4 clients have developed a problem when using a network printer connected to a Samba print share. Some applications are OK. But take, well, notepad, for example. Selecting a local printer is normal, but there is a two minute delay (!) in selecting a network printer. Once selected, all is well. All smb operations are frozen until the selection happens. This is

disable spoolss - not working
Hi, I don't want to have to downgrade my samba server to disable spoolss. I'm running 2.2.3. (I assume I don't need 2.2.3a since it just fixed an overwrite bug). When I use "disable spoolss = no", I can access my printer \\server\savin just fine. When I use "disable spoolss = yes", I can see my printer (savin) in \\server, but when I access it, I get:

TrippLite SmartPro and 2.0.3
I'm running Ubuntu 5.10, featuring a patched kernel 2.6.12. I have a Tripp Lite SmartPro SLT ups connected via USB. I have cleanly compiled and installed the new nut 2.0.3. I do have the "extras", like libusb, installed too. I need some USB advice- that is, I'm not sure what a normal baseline should look like. At boot, the modules usb_core and uhci_hcd are loaded. dmesg

spoolss printing: downloading printing preferences in W2K
I have heard something about a 'known bug in 2.2.4' so this might already be known. If so, I just want to get confirmation... I have a new samba 2.2.4 running on a RH7.2 box, running solely as printserv. The spoolss printing functionality is working fine: uploading drivers works ok (aside from a few APW quirks if you change drivers). I'm using CUPS as unix printing backend. The

It shows the print queue with zero items. The title bar says "HP970C on FAFNIR" which is the "comment" in the section for that printer in /etc/samba/smb.conf, as well as being the icon label in "Printers and Faxes". (If the logged-in user were not listed under "printer admin" or in a listed group, the title bar would say "access

Tripp Lite is up to no good
Well, I have good news and bad news. I have a Tripp Lite SmartPro UPS attached to a Linux server running Ubuntu 5.10, and I'm running the just-released nut 2.0.3. I had error -71 from the UPS, which Charles Lepple correctly called out as a likely cable problem (thank you, Charles.) The cable provided with the UPS by Tripp Lite was just plain bad. Not too long, mind you- defective. I

Non-registry problem: Slow printing
Greetings, I have a client running samba-3.0.24 with mostly Windows-XP clients. They can print to some printers (those with drivers provided by Microsoft) without problem. They can also print to printers with vendor supplied printer drivers but they end up waiting up to 30 seconds just to select the printer. There is a similar wait when adding the printer to the list of printers the XP client

NTLM, NTLMv2, lmcompatibilitylevel >=2 doesnt work
Hi, I'm wondering if samba supports NTLMv2, particullary NTLMv2 session security. But I can't even get NTLM-only to work :(. I'm trying to increase lmcompatibilitylevel, but I can't connect to the samba server anymore when I set it to 2 or higher ("Send NTLM authenication only"). I'm using HEAD CVS of today, and my smb.conf looks like this: [global]

Hi everybody out there! I'm using Samba 2.2.5, coming with SuSE 8.1 and should connect from an XP-Pro PC, really logged into an W2K PDC with Domain Account, to the Samba server mentioned above. Problem: Logged from XP-Pro client into W2K PDC account, I can not connect and always get a "System error 1240" (net use <drive:> \\SMBSERVER\share) which I also can not avoid doing

Samba, NT4 and W2K trust/authentication problem.
Hi all, Set-up: Local NT4-RESOURCE domain which the Samba server is a member off. One NT4-ADMIN domain with users accounts and one W2K domain with some other user accounts. "conversion error" and NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hi list, sorry in case I do ask a FAQ, but I did in fact find some more mentions of a problem like this, but always without a solution. I upgraded our Samba server today (from 2.10/SuSE to 3.0x/Debian) and have problems with some of the clients (Windows XP). When trying to access a share from these clients, I get a NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE, and increasing the log level reveals several occurences
