ZFS questions with mirrors
IHAC that is asking the following. any thoughts would be appreciated
Take two drives, zpool to make a mirror.
Remove a drive - and the server HANGS. Power off and reboot the server,
and everything comes up cleanly.
Take the same two drives (still Solaris 10). Install Veritas Volume
Manager (4.1). Mirror the two drives. Remove a drive - everything is
still running. Replace the drive, everything

SAMBA HA
Ben,
I am building a high-availability Samba server for our entire company. There is
nothing built-in to Samba that I have seen, so I am writing an agent for Veritas
Cluster Server. If you're on Solaris, VCS is really nice, though it isn't cheap
(about $14k per node). Veritas is also coming out with a product called File
Server Edition, that integrates Samba with their FileSystem

secret.tdb copied from server to server
Hello there,
We have Samba 3.0.2a installed on two solaris 8 servers in a failover cluster
(using Veritas Cluster Server). We're using it for windows and unix print
servers.
Right now, we have one server with one netbios name advertised (printserver1)
and the other with a netbios name of printserver2. Both have been joined to our
windows NT 4.0 domain.
We have an interface that fails

Rejoining domain after cluster failover
Hello. We're having issues running Samba 2.2.8-a1, on Solaris 8 (SPARC) under Veritas VCS 3.5 clustering (HA active-passive).
Every time we have a cluster failover (we're testing), we have to re-join the domain [ADS not NT] (e.g., 'smbpasswd -j XYZ -r XYZPDC -UAdminRightsUser%password'). Otherwise, we cannot connect to the shares, and 'wbinfo -t' returns 'Secret is

Solaris 8 and cups issues
Hello there,
I have a solaris 8 server running cups 1.1.20 and samba 3.0.1. We've
successfully configured a handful of HP Laserjet network printers to
work
with our windows clients (works like a champ...very happy with winbind
and
the "point and print" automatic driver installation).
However, we can't print from Solaris clients? We have one physical
printer
and two queues

Clustered Samba print shares
I hope someone can shed some light on this. I've posted this before but I'm
still looking for an answer.
Basically, I'm looking for help in configuring Samba 3.02a in an active/passive
cluster (failover).
Currently I have two nodes running Solaris 8. Only one is active at a time. The
active node is running Samba. It's netbios name is printserver1. Printerserver1
is also DNS

samba sessions dying - NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
Dear samba users & developers,
I was hoping to seek some assistance on a problem I?ve been
investigating for a number of weeks now.
A brief summary would be that we have a number of Windows servers
accessing UNC paths. In turn, these servers intermittently lose their
ability to access the UNC paths. When this happens, restarting the
application (IIS6 / 7) on the affected windows webserver

[LLVMdev] Infinite loop in llc on ARMv7 (LLVM HEAD from June 17)
Hello,
it looks like I do have infinite loop in llc on linux/armv7 platform

Samba using Virtual Servers (load balancing)
Hello fellow samba users,
Our company uses samba for all fileshares/printing/PDC on
two SUN E3500's. We like to replace these with about 10
Linux 19" XEON (pizza)boxes. The question: Are there
any implementation out there using a loadbalancing cluster
doing samba?
A simple diagram of the setup I have in mind:

Samba mapping issue using DNS alias on an x86 server running Solaris 10.
We have Samba mapping issue when we switch a DNS alias pointing one samba
host (running Solaris 8 sparcs, Fujitsu PW850) to a new samba host
(running Solaris 10, virtual zone under VCS, Sun X4440). They
are both running samba version 3.0.22, for sparc and i386 respectively.
Their samba configuration looks alike.
The DNS alias is called for riskenginepri-smb.sg.db.com

used in house. It is basically a front-end for the company''s
scheduling software.
