Problem with creating a new GPO
Hello.
I have a Problem with creating a GPO on Samba. Each time I try to create
a new one, it shows "The security id may not be assigned as the owner of
this object". I've already checked the sysvol-folder and it seems to
have the correct permissions. I also checked the Account-Permissions
(I'm the build-in Administrator, when trying this) and I also checked
the connection

My story installing Samba-LDAP PDC (it has a happy ending)
OK.
I am starting to believe that Samba 3.0.x is not stable.
At least, the documentation for Samba as PDC with OpenLDAP backend (which is
what I have been trying to do for four days) is crap.
All the documentation for 3.0.x is mixed with 2.2.x. Most documents start as
instructions for 3.0.x but put a lot of information that doesn't apply to
3.0.x, but 2.2.x.

CFG normalization: avoiding `br i1 false`
Hi,
I was looking at Rust programs which are poorly optimized by LLVM, and
one occasional factor is that LLVM allows for long-lived `br i1 false`
instructions.
The problem is that if a propagation pass discovers the condition of a
branch, the branch itself will not be eliminated until a SimpllfyCfg
pass is reached, of which there are few in the pipeline.
One example is

Problem with fitdistr function

Dear all,
following the thread

regarding the bug in the partial autocorrelation function for
multivariate time series.
I have prepared a web page with patches and relevant information.

Crash when doing rm -rf
Not an really good subject, I know but that''s kind of what happend.
I''m trying to build an backup-solution server, Windows users using OSCAR (which uses rsync) to sync their files to an folder and when complete takes a snapshot. It has worked before but then I turned on the -R switch to rsync and when I then removed the folder with rm -rf it crashed. I didn''t save what

CFG normalization: avoiding `br i1 false`

The problem is that as you said, SimplifyCfg does all sorts of stuff,
and I suspect is not the fastest pass in the world.
Also, in the case that annoys me, there is an LCSSA pass in the
middle, and I suspect it would be a better idea to only do the LCSSA
etc. transform again if no

How To Recover From Creating >2TB ext3 Filesystem on MSDOS Partition Table?
(I've already sent this message to Ted Ts'o directly. I should
have sent it to this list first but I didn't know about it
until today. My apologies to Ted.)
Last Friday a system that I just inherited refused to mount
a file system that had been working fine for about 6 months.
This is on a Scientific Linux 4.3 system using a 2.6.9
kernel. This is another Linux distribution based on

e2fsck hanging
I'm trying to run e2fsck on a ~6TB filesystem which is about 90%
full. We're doing backup to disk to this filesystem, and have a
number of hard links (link counts up to 90).
strace shows:

write(1, "directory", 9) = 9

pid-provider sees ld.so.1 only
I''m trying to do some userspace tracing on a server-process with the pid provider.
My problem is, that the only probes the pid-provider lists for the server-process (to which I attach dtrace with "-p nnnn") are coming from "ld.so.1".
There''s not a single one from my modules.
If I''m specifying "a.out" (or any of our shared-objects) as the

Problem with samba broadcast
Hi all,
I''m new to shorewall and have been struggling with several problems for
several days now. Most of them are solved, but one still persists.
The firewall is running on my server under Debian Sarge (Kernel 2.6)
I''ve got three network interfaces:
ppp0 (DSL Internet)
eth1 (lan)
ath0 (wlan)
eth1 and ath0 are bridged together to br0.
The problem is, that Samba (also running

3.6.10 file handle leak under ancient 32-bit kernel
Hello,
I've come across a curious issue with
Samba 3.6.10.
When running 'emacs' version
GNU Emacs 23.3.1 (i386-mingw-nt6.0.6002) of 2011-03-10 on 3249CTO
on Windows Server 2008 SP2 x64 and issuing
a file "revert" of one sort or another
against a Samba-served file, the 'smbd'
process leaks two or three handles.
Eventually, when 16k handles are open,
this causes
