Hello - I have two files which play back in VLC correctly.
They were encoded using this command:

Encrypted remote backup?
Can anyone recommend a commercial off site remote backup service with a
client (preferably FOSS) for CentOS 5, preferably that allows encryption
of the data being backed up?
Small scale, I'm primarily looking to just back up my mail folder on my
server.
I've been backing it up to local hd via rsync but that drive just died,
I'd prefer to have it backed up to somewhere more stable

windows printer config management
Hello,
I sent this request to my local linux user group:
<http://lists.luv.asn.au/wws/arc/luv-talk/2008-02/msg00000.html>
Unfortunately it looks like nobody is able to answer, so I will try
here:
Does anybody know of any sane solution for (globally) managing the
configuration of printers on a large number of Windows computers?
My current solution is
1. create samba server with printer

[Vorbis-dev] Zero length reported.
Okay - so I stepped through the code slowly this morning making notes as I went.
And I can see what’s wrong. The last Ogg header of the troublesome file contains -1 as the granule position. The spec says this has a special meaning "A special value of '-1' (in two's complement) indicates that no packets finish on this page."

TDM400 takes Zap/4 line off hook
Hello,
I have a TDM400 with 2 FXS modules and 2 FXO modules, as follows:
Zap/1 - internal phone
Zap/2 - internal modem
Zap/3 - exchange
Zap/4 - exchange
Recently I upgraded zaptel (and kernel modules) from 1.0.9-1.1 to
1.0.9.1 and upgraded asterisk to 1.0.9.dfsg.1-3, which are Debian
versions for Debian/sarge of the packages I believe the Debian
maintainers created (not in Debian)
The above

Reading data from a text file conditionally skipping lines
Hi,
It would be better to give an example.
If your dataset is like the one attached:
con<-file("Trial1.txt")
?Lines1<- readLines(con)
?close(con)
#If the data you wanted to extract is numeric and the header and footer are characters,
dat1<-read.table(text=Lines1[-grep("[A-Za-z]",Lines1)],sep="\t",header=FALSE)
dat1

snooping - the crux of the problem
I have a computer with two interfaces, say with addresses 192.168.1.1
and 192.168.1.2. I want to set up routing such that when I ping
192.168.1.1 it goes out through 192.168.1.2 and not to the local
interface.
Is this possible - all my attempts so far have been unsuccessful? If
so, pointers, etc. would be gratefully appreciated.

Tracking user's activity
Greetings,
I've been looking for a proper way to to track down user's activity
inside the shell as I'm helping my colleague to configure a web
hosting and shell hosting server.
Someone have referred me to this article --
http://bsdtips.utcorp.net/mediawiki/index.php/Snoop which is using
'watch' commands to view user's activity once they logged in to the
server
I found

Supsend/hibernate on Samsung NC10
Hi,
I cannot have suspend and hibernate working on a Samsung NC10
(netbook) running CentOS 5.4 i386.
When I try suspending/hibernating the screen becomes black (with a few
logs, like "shrinking memory" for hibernate) and then the computer
hangs and I have to force a shutdown with the power button.
This wiki page seems to say that it should work out of the box:

Converting Hash to and from URL params
I''m sure this is easy since rails does this internally, but I need to
convert a string of url formatted variables
"foo=bar&baz=snoo&why=because" to a hash, and I need to convert a hash
to url format.
Now before I roll my own methods to do this, does rails expose this
functionality somehow?

NUT and Ablerex MARS 3000RT
Hello,
I own some Ablerex MARS 3000 (MS3000RT) UPS.
Following the thread here :
http://osdir.com/ml/monitoring.nut.user/2006-04/msg00091.html
I would have the following issues :
1. The battery charge displayed seems wrong : It always shows 100.0 - even
when the battery is disconnected for replacement.
2. Battery voltage 2.29 is also static ...and wrong. The initial assumption
of being the voltage

How to constraint instructions reordering from patterns?
Here is a last example to illustrate my concern.
The problem is about the lowering of node t13.
Initial selection DAG: BB#0 '_start:entry'
SelectionDAG has 44 nodes:
t11: i16 = Constant<0>
t0: ch = EntryToken
t3: ch = llvm.clp.set.rspa t0, TargetConstant:i16<392>, Constant:i32<64>
t5: ch = llvm.clp.set.rspb t3,

Redhat 8 Samba+CUPS
Hi all. In the interest of using a more mainstream business distribution, I
changed my faithful file/printserver over to Redhat 8.0 from Debian Testing.
Now, my shared directories are working fine but printing is not working. I
can browse to the printer using net view or Network Neighborhood in Windows
or using smbclient -L in Linux but printing is not working. I've checked

Sanjay,
I'm looking at some missed optimizations caused by D70246. Here's a test case:

copy files from Linux to NT Server
Hi & sorry if this is too "newbie" of a question but I
just can`t find
a
solution.
I`m trying to use smbclient or at least smbmount, but
both is not
working.
What I want to do is:
copy files via command line (I will have to do that
later with an
automated
script) from my Linux server to the NT Server
(server1) in a directory
called "photo library test" (I tried as well

Sorry for the spam if you are on both :)
