samba printing from 64-bit windows server 2008
I have a redhat EL5 samba server hosting a collection of printers and joined to a domain. I can connect to this server and print happily from a 32-bit XP box on the domain, but a 64-bit windows server 2008 box cannot connect, and returns the error 0x000006d1. I get the same results with samba 3.0.33 (came with redhat), 3.5.3 (the latest from sernet), and 3.3.12 (this message from the

printing problems and permissions
I've got Samba 2.2.3 running as a PDC for some Win9x and WinNT clients. Everything seems to be fine except that occasionally (but rather often, at least every second day) printing from one of the NT-clients is impossible. In the log file it says (word wrap here in the editor): [2002/02/26 18:04:21, 0] printing/printing.c:print_job_start(952) print_job_start: insufficient permissions to open

Howdi, I can't add a w2k workstation to samba3 domain with my username. If I add my username to "admin users" list, then I can add the box to domain (but overritten by euid). My goal is, that joining domain can be done without using "admin users" option. Groupmapping is done and works. When machine is in domain and log in, I get full admin rights on that box. Removing the

Clear text authentication impossible???
We have an Exchange 5.5 server in our Samba 3 domain und want to have POP3 access with clear text authentication from clients. But no kind of credentials is accepted. continuous access to printer causes high memory usage
Hi list, I am trying to track down a printer-related problem. The most important symptom is a smbd process using almost all memory on my machine (up to 800 MB, at the specific case of which I've posted the logs.) At some point the VM will kill the smbd process, freeing the memory. Apart from this, samba keeps on running fine. Investigation of a level 3 debug log of this process has shown

Windows printing problems to Samba3.2
Help! I'm in the process of migrating my companies Windows NT print server to Samba 3.2. (yea) But I'm running into a few problems. (boo) I've searched the archives and google with no success... I have about 15 clients testing out the new server, mainly Win2k. Some work fine, but others have problems connecting, getting the "Unable to Connect" message in the printer folder.
