Shared namespace is empty after migration to new Dovecot installation
Hi all,
I've used most of this weekend finalizing my migration from an old
server running Dovecot 2.2.22 to a brand new installation running 2.3.8.
In general, the migration was painless, everything just clicked, but
checking up on the finer details post migration i've found out that user
shared folders does not seem to work anymore, and I simply can't get it
to work.

grini<-function(x) {gini(variable,

Samba + nmblookup
Hi Everyone,
>From windows 2K, machine I could see Samba server but I can't get its
share.
I tried to follow the instruction given at
http://samba.planetmirror.com/samba/ftp/docs/Samba24Hc13.pdf to resolve
the problem.
nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 _SAMBA_
and
nmblookup -B 10.10.255.255 real-samba-server-name
fails for me but
nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 real-samba-server-name

Problem with softlinks under samba on RHEL
Hello all Samba enthusiasts.
I am a noob w.r.t. samba configuration and just happened to use it on
Solaris systems by creating conf files using copy-paste :-). This is
just to convey that I'm no advanced user and might need help with the
solutions / alternatives to come.
Some background => Here is my smb.conf:

A 'simple' problem?
Here's one for you if you have the time:
I very stupidly killed the wrong process on a server on a remote site on
Friday and now I cannot ssh login to it! It's not a major problem as it's
main functions are as a file and print sharer (samba) and to run
postfix/mailscanner, and I can have someone on site reboot the server when
they start work on Monday, but I was wondering whether I

Restricting Access to Samba Shared Printers?
Is it possible (and if so, how) within Samba to restrict printers to be
using by only certain users/groups? We have a printer dedicated to
printing our checks that was using one of those '4 PCs -> 1 printer'
devices. We've been constantly having problems with transmissions
getting garbled when using the printer sharer (everything's fine if a PC
is directly connected), and

Yields this, which is the same I got when trying to debug using doveadm
acl, it seems like the shared mailboxes aren't placed in the shared
namespace at all.
