Account not authorized to login from this station
Hello,
I've got a problem to connect to my samba server from other NT
domains/workgroups. The error message I get is:
The account is not authorized to login from this station.
People are able to login from the local workgroup.
I've looked at google, most of the time this error message indicates that
encrypted passwords have to be turned on. This was already done.

NT access problems: The account is not authorized to logon from this station
I recently installed RedHat 5.2 w/ SAMBA and hooked it up to my small LAN.
All my other machines are Windows 95, 98, and NT. I have TCP/IP installed
on all machines and they can all ping each other. I am not running with a
domain controller. I am instead using a workgroup. All Windows machines can
talk to each other both through TCP/IP and Network Neighborhood. I finally

Problem with Samba: "The account is not authorized to login from this station"
I am having a problem configuring Samba to work with my NT mahcines. I

Log user log-offs
Does anyone know of a way to log when a user logs off using Samba as a
PDC. I have Samba 3.0.2a and can log log-ons using root preexec on a
share all users mount, however I do not know of a way to log log-offs.
We need this data for record keeping purposes. We don't use roaming
profiles, so using root postexec is not an option as shares disconnect
when not in use.
Thanks for any help,

RE: The account is not authorized to log in from this station
No, i can't.
I have also tried pcguest, guest, admin, and windows 2000 accounts.
Question for you:
If i want to connect to a windows 2000 shared folder from my Linux box,
what command do I type to attach or mount it?
Is it simply
"mount -o smbfs username=win2k_username,password=password
//windows_server_name/shared_folder /shared_folder"

Socket problems. . .
I'm new to wine, so I'm kind of stumbling around in the dark trying to
make heads or tails of the documentation. I'm trying to get a working
installation of wine and I'm having some troubles.
I've tried downloading the source and using the wineinstall script and
that has stopped at several different spots with errors that I don't
understand, the last one was Error 2, this

I am at a loss to find out why my posts to this list never show in my in-box while everybody else's does.
I verified my options in my profile for this list but no luck yet. What should I do ?
Could you please reply to me so I know that my post is at least read by you, John H Terpstra.
I have done my reading, struggled with Samba 2.2.8a and the smb.conf file on a HP box and verified quite a few
