Ext3-0.0.5b in Roswell installation?
Hi! I've upgraded my seawolf to ext3fs with the packages from Roswell (kernel, filesystem, mount, ....), but when doing 'tune2fs -j', it mentions 'Ext3fs version 0.0.5b'...? Isn't version 0.0.7a the latest?? Why isn't that version included in the Roswell kernel, but an older version is? And how can i upgrade my version of ext3fs? Thanks! Bart Verwilst

client mount fails on boot under debian lenny...
Hi Is there clean way to ensure that a glusterfs mount point specified in /etc/fstab is mounted automatically on boot under debian lenny when referencing a remote node for the volfile? In my test case everytime I reboot, the system tries to mount the filesystem before the backend 10ge interface comes up so it gets a "No route to host" and immediately aborts. I know I can dump a mount

2.4.14 + latest patch != ext3 support
Hello, I just need a little clarification regarding applying the ext3 patch to the latest kernel. I have 2.4.7-10 that came with RH 7.2. I have ext3 running. I need to upgrade those (to get some USB device working). So I got the latest kernel, 2.4.14, patched it with the ext3-2.4-0.9.15-2414 patch, picked ext3 from 'make xconfig', built the kernel, but the new stuff in /boot, etc.,

Ext3 Variables
Hello , i want to create a script that should automatically free the proxy partition i.e /var. I am able to create that script. But the problem is that i don't know through which variables i can check my partition's space that show me full detail i.e remaining size, etc. One for that is df -h and other fdisk -l /dev/hdxx. But when i will use if state then which

alternate tick labels and tick marks with lattice xyplot
Hi, I would like to use xyplot to create a figure. Unfortunately, I cannot find documentation in xyplot to specify alternating the x-axis tick labels with the x-axis tick marks. I can do this with the regular R plot function as follows. #A small version of my data looks like this data<-data.frame(matrix(ncol=3,nrow=12)) data[,1]<-rep(c(1,2,3),c(4,4,4)) data[,2]<-rep(c(1,2,3,4),3)

lost+found missing, Bug or feature?
Hi, I noticed that some of my ext3 partitions have a lost+found directory and some do not. Which is correct? mke2fs -j makes the lost+found but after a fresh install of 7.2 there are no lost+found on partitions that were formatted. I want to make them all the same but I am not sure which is correct. I do not plan on going back to ext2 but......... -- ......Tom Dysfunction The Only Consistent

Intermittent ext3 corruption on external firewire Micronet 1.5Tb RAID on FC3
Hi I have a Firewire connected Micronet 1.5TB RAID with a single large ext3 filesystem on one partition on a dual Xeon system. I am checking out from an extremely large cvs repository (don't ask) to this drive over the course of many days, and intermittently I get bad blocks and the filesystem goes read-only. This is not related to any power failure or anything similar. The RAID is currently

hd sometimes 'hangs' a few seconds
hi, I recently changed my filesystem to ext3 (from ext2), and since then, my hard disk sometimes seems to 'hang' a few seconds (in fact the whole system hangs then, and only the hd LED is on), before continuing normally... This happens for example (not always though) when I untar an archive and try to ls in the newly created directory... Is there an explanation for this? And if so,

2.4.13 kernel on Redhat 7.2
I have tried everything to compile a new kernel on my 7.2 base system. I have used 2.4.13-ac6 and 2.4.13 w/ ext3 patch. I have compiled with ext3 built-in and with ext3 as module (with the initrd). I have a SCSI system so I have done the previous variations with both SCSI support built-in and modular (with the initrd). The error I get is: Remounting root filesystem in read-write mode: mount: no

7.2 might have ate my partition table.
Well I thought someone might be interested in this. I have a Compaq server with a cpq array in a raid 5 configuration with some bog standard video card no sound card, NO X installed, no applications/modules not included with the distro, and 256 megs of memory. I upgraded it (yes I know not supported but...) from Roswell to 7.2 in the middle of last week and installed all applicable errata

user.dll problems
Hi, I'm having problems getting Half-Life to setup using Wine. I have RedHat Linux Roswell, and no windows files. I used the autosetup utility to install Wine and it seemed to work. After fixing my wine config I went to run a windows app. When I run the setup.exe file I get this message: err:module:BUILTIN_LoadModule loaded .so but dll user.dll still not found Could not load

Forte Agent Socket Problems
Hi All, I'm a newbie to WINE, and for my first application I'm trying to set up Forte Agent RedHat Linux (Roswell). I can run it fine (well, there is a constant flow of error messages on my console, but the program window still looks allright). But I can't connect to the internet. This is the message I keep getting: fixme:winsock:_get_sock_fd handle 164 is not a socket (GLE 6)

Question About Relocating Journal on Other Device
Hi. I'm using e2fsprogs 1.23 on a Roswell system with a patched 2.4.7 kernel (using patch ext3-2.4-0.9.5-247) and am trying to create an ext3 filesystem whose journal is located on another device. The incantation I'm trying is: mke2fs -j -J device=/dev/hdc2 /dev/hdc3 I keep getting an error along the lines of "mke2fs: Journal superblock not found". I've tried creating

ext3 and 2.4.5: OK, but how to convert / ?
Hi. I just installed ext3 for 2.4.5 from http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/ but couldn't find anything about converting my root partition to ext3. 2 partitions are now ext3 after I umount and tune2fs, but what should I do with / ? I tried init 1 and umount, but tune2fs would fail because it was on read-only fs. Another question is if I can now build ext2 as a module, and if it's
