Hi all, Is it possible to have a Samba server use pam as the authentication mechanism, which then in turn authenticates against an MIT Kerberos realm? We already have kerberos up and running, but no Windows Domain infrastructure. We're currently not using LDAP (but we'd want that to auth against Kerberos anyway). I was trying to restart my LDAP service and used /etc/init.d/slapd restart, but it said "slapd: unrecognized service." so I tried /etc/init.d ldap restart and it says that restarts the service slapd [ok]. I tried to look for the service on webmin and slapd doesn't even exist. Is the problem on my side or is there a mistake on the Samba-HOWTO-Collection? Ambex

I am trying to compile the small Samba 3.0.2a source on Solaris 9 to use ldap. The ./configure run reports: "WARNING: libldap is needed for LDAP support". The Solaris installation has it's native libldap installed in /usr/lib, but the configuration does not seem to find it. Would anyone know what I am missing?
