Winbind is used if you want to authentificate unix account with a other PDC.
I don't know if on the same server you can use winbind for unix auth and
ldap for Samba ...
Loc Nguyen a ?crit :

Member Server with problems
I'm a issue with my File Server as a Member Server. I followed many
tutorials, but my authentication in Member Server doesn't work. I think
the issue is in my krb5.conf or nssswitch.conf
Follow is my /etc/krb5.conf in a Member Server:
[libdefaults]
default_realm = MEUDOMINIO.COM
MEUDOMINIO.COM = {
kdc = 10.133.84.25
admin_server = 10.133.84.25

Hi list,
I'm getting stuck at the replication part for my BDC. Could
someone familiar with OpenLDAP replication shed some light?
I'm sure
that password is correct
Thanks for taking a look at!

Authdb NSS module
Hello!
Upgrading manual tells that authdb [NSS module was removed][1] some time ago.
[1]: https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Upgrading/2.3#line-100
> userdb nss was removed. Use userdb passwd instead.
Can this change be reverted?
I'd like to use only libnss_sss.so.2 as dovecot userdb source. It's also essential for me to enable files backend in nsswitch.conf so the system could use local

The following is my configuration files, I list the part of them,

LDAP replication
Hi all,
I know this is not ldap list, but I'm setting SAMBA LDAP BDC; I
think many of you have experience with this.
I setup a replica, I
haven't done the following
I followed

getent doesnt't list group
Hi to all,
I have installed Samba+winbind+kerberos on a Ubuntu OS, configured authentication to our ads domain as member
I can list user and group using wbinfo, if I use getent I have the ADS user but not the ads group (only local group).
The problem is that samba does not recognize group in the filesystem and assign a wrong gid to the objects.
I tried to change winbind separator to \ or / but

On the Domain Server I am running:
- samba (latest 3.latest)

I use LDAP right now, but local cached sssd queries are much faster and reliable.

Re: Trusting and trusted domain (home mapping) problem
Hi Igor,
I got stuck now. I did my best. I got stuck at the winbind which I suspected is the reason why the domainA_computer cannot map the domain_B user's home directory.
1. What are the settings of your winbind?
2. Do you use only "winbind" in your libnss_ldap or use "ldap" as well?
3. My winbind works with :-
(For both sides)
wbinfo -t
wbinfo -p
wbinfo -u
wbinfo

kerberos/Samba integration questions
I'm trying to integrate Samba with my kerberos configuration on Solaris 10
(with Samba 3.0.23d) and I have one basic issue - probably I don't
understand something. Hopefully one of you experts can help.
We have an AD based organization but we do a lot of Unix work on Solaris 10
and AIX 5.3 - I have about 75 *nix servers of various flavors. There's a lot

Transfer winbind idmap to LDAP
Hi all
This seems simple, but I can't figure how tho acheive it.
I have:
- NT4-PDC
- Fileserver (Solaris 9), Samba 3.0.2 member server with winbind
I want to migrate my NT4-PDC to Samba PDC with ldapsam. How can I make
sure that after vamprie my old PDC to Samba-PDC, the user and group ids
will be the same as in the winbind-idmap of my Samba member server?
Thanks and regards

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Hello,
On my system, nssswitch is like this :
passwd:???? files sss
shadow:???? files sss
group:????? files sss
So I assumed that it works with SSSD, I do not notice any issue with Samba.
My share is accessible, permissions acls are working.
The only thing I noticed is maybe NTLMv2 is always used by default with
Samba.
