Windows 2003 Active Directory and Group Access
Hi together,
we have a Windows 2003 Active Directory Server, working together with Samba Version 3.0.2a-Debian. It seems
everything (Kerberos authentication and so on) works fine. All the authentication is done by the windows 2003
server. My problem is, that I can't connect to a share via a windows xp client, when the share has an option
"valid user" which defines a group of the

smbprint to Win XP
My server is running Centos 4. The printer is attached to a Win XP
machine. Print service is CUPS. Samba version is 3.0.10. I can use
smbclient to connect to the printer and successfully print. I have set
the printer up with exactly the same settings as I am using with
smbclient. When I use lpr to print nothing prints and when I do an
lpstat I get the message: Connection failed with error

Hello,
There is a printer at work (a Xerox WorkCentre 5325).
I am able to print using the following command: smbclient //MyHiddenPC/MyHiddenShare -WMyHiddenDomain -c 'print my-hidden-file.pdf'.
However, it does not work when I try to print through CUPS using the following command: lp my-hidden-file.pdf.
In the CUPS error_log file, the only error I can read is: [Job 5] PID 27883

Anyone successfully using a HP 8000 DN (with JetDirect module and IP) with samba?
Anyone successfully using a HP 8000 DN or HP 5 Lsi (with JetDirect module
and assigned IP) with samba?
Subject says it all. If you're successfully doing this, what configs made
it work? FAQs
tell how to set up with a print server, but what if the printer itself is
the server? Trust me,
the HP doesn't know jack about port 139.

Cups printers troubles
Ok... here we go,
I have a server running RH 7.3, samba 2.2.3a, and CUPS 1.1.14. All the
printers we have are networked printers sitting off of Linksys
printservers. On this server I am sharing all off our printers out via
Samba. See my smb.conf file below. This server works perfectly. All
printers are shared out successfully.

Ok,
If it does not matter, tell me which printer driver version are you using.
V3 or V4 that is one you should know, because if its a "V4" driver,
then its not supported by samba.
And samba doe only support non-packaged aware printer drivers. ( see wiki )
Are you using spoolss or spoolssd ?

it's rpm instead. My first of many questions, for printing to work

Permissions and authorities
Hello,
We've just migrated from Netware to Samba and have only 1 problem that's
affecting our users.
When a user creates a new document in a directory the owner and group or
both set to root. The directories are owned by a specific user and there is
also a group associated with the directory.
I was expecting that any new documents created would have the same user and
owner as the
