LDAP passwords not working after upgrading to Samba 3
Hi All, I apologize in advance for the length of this post but I wanted to be as thorough as possible and get this problem fixed. I'm trying to upgrade our existing Samba 2.2.7 server with an OpenLDAP 2.0.27 backend to Samba 3 using the same LDAP database. After I did the upgrade(in a test environment), user passwords no longer work. I've read articles upon articles explaining how to do

The WinXP is able to join the domain and the machine account gets created in ldap. But I

smbldap- only user root can login to windows.
After getting samba, ldap and smbtools setup and joining machines to the domain successfully, the only user that can login to the win2k boxes is the user root created initially by the smbldap scripts. Any other user comes up with a bad username and password message in windows. Any of the users I've tried to login to the windows box can login to other linux machines, can connect using

Hi! I've recently been upgrading a Samba 2.2 installation to 3.0 (on a SuSE 9.3 machine, specific version is 3.0.13-1.1-SuSE). Everything went more or less okay, but I'm stumped on the following problem... here's the general setup: * Samba acting as a PDC (named "servidor"). Was upgraded from 2.2 to 3.0. 3.0.1-2 failed to decode PDU
Hi All, come acrross a curious issue with 3.0.1-2 from Debian unstable. Looks like a bug of sorts to me... Have a PDC configured and basically working well, apart from single recurrent issue that keeps popping up in the logs below, related to failure or breaking of remote procedure calls. The pipes more often break when using the UNC path as opposed to IP. couldn't find service netlogon

Machine account found and not found in 3.0.2
Brad, I found your posting of 2/20/2004 with the subject line of "upgraded to 3.0.2 -> funkyness in machine accounts" while investigating a similar problem. I upgraded to 3.0.2 last week from 3.0.0. I have a system which I just added to the domain successfully. However, when I attempt to log a domain user onto that machine, I get this error: The system cannot log you on to
