restrict logon to groups of workstations
Hi. I see the "workstations" parameter (associated to a Sam Account) is used to restrict logon of that user to the listed workstations. But it would be nice to restrict logon based on list of groups of workstations, too. Just like it is possible to list unix groups or netgroups for parameters like "valid users". Does the Samba Team think about to extend the

sambaUserWorkstations (with LDAP) not working with Groups of Computers ?
Hi, I'm trying to use the sambaUserWorkstations option to allow users to log on certain computers only. This option looks great... In fact it looks now a lot better than the 'ldap filter' one than was deprecated with samba 3.0.20... The fact is, if the sambaUserWorkstations option works well with machine names, it doesn't seem to work when specifying groups of machines.

simple test of lme, questions on DF corrections
I''m a physicist working on fusion energy and dabble in statistics only occasionally, so please excuse gaps in my statistical knowledge. I''d appreciate any help that a real statistics expert could provide. Most people in my field do only very simple statistics, and I am trying to extend some work on multivariate linear regression to account for significant between-group

Using factors in R
Dear R super-users, I am quite new in using R and I am not managing to edit factors. Lest suppose that one has the following data: Factor A Factor B Factor C Claims Factor A has 3 factors (1,2 and 3). To simplify the glm model I only want to have 2 factor (let's say 1 and 3). I should I do this? Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Pedro Sobral [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

ssh-add...
I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to suggest it, but... what about ssh ssh-add's -c flag, which enables it to get the input from stdin? -- Daniel C. Hi! I had a database with some variables in sequence. Let me say: TX01, TX02, TX03 and TX04. But I need to run some regressions changing the variables... so: variable <- paste("TX0", 1:4, sep="") for(i in 1:4){ test[i] <- lm(variable[i] ~ INCOME, data=database) } But doesn't work... lm tries to find a variable inside database named variable[i] ... Suggestions?

Trying to join a Solaris 8 box to Windows 2000 AD.
I am having major problems with SAMBA samba-3.0alpha20 in trying to connect to Windows 2000 AD. I have attached info if that helps. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Clive Elsum I can get samba-3.0alpha20 working if I include reference to our NT PDC in the smb.conf file and do a net rpc join command. LevelOne WPC-0301 11g Wireless CardBus
Hello, I bought a LevelOne WPC-0301 11g Wireless CardBus Adapter today. According to the box it is "v6". The ral(4) man- page mentions only v2, but that one is ancient and can't be bought anymore. So, enabling the debug sysctl gives this in dmesg: cardbus0: Expecting link target, got 0x0 cardbus0: <network, ethernet> at device 0.0 (no driver attached) cardbus0: CIS pointer
