printing question
I have some more information concerning my print management speed issues from last week. In a level 10 log, I see several 'print cache expired for queue <printername>' whenever I try to open the Printers folder. After uploading a driver, I see the same behavior when trying to close the Properties window.
This makes administration unbearably slow. I am about to try non-cups printing

Changing 'winbind use default domain' to yes breaks group share permissions
In order to support another project which I wanted to use winbind authentication for, I had to turn 'winbind use default domain' on. This seems to have disabled my ability to set group permissions on a share.
My windbind separator is '-'.
Before, I would give a group access to a share by putting '@DOMAIN-Group Name' in the list of valid users for the share. After setting

Roaming profile permissions questions
Hello,
I would like to host our Terminal Services and Roaming Profiles on a Samba 3.0.2 server. I am able to have profiles created correctly for any user except those who are listed as 'admin users' - currently our Domain Admins group as '@DOMAIN-Domain Admins'. What happens is that a profile is created with the actual owner as root and an ACL entry for the actual user. For

Unable to enable Add/Remove Printer Drivers (3.0.0)
I used to be able to load printer drivers via "server properties". Now
when I go in the printer drivers are listed and I can use the properties
button but the Add/Remove buttons are greyed out. This is a Samba
3.0.0/2.4.2-SGI_XFS_1.0 box and I've tried both NT4sp6 and Win2003beta
clients (both exhibit the same behaviour).
I see the following in the log when I connect to

Win2k clients problem after updating system
Hello all samba users and programmers,
Since I changed my system and reinstalled samba funny things happen in my net. I used to work with a Gentoo system and now I've got installed a Knoppix 3.2 Debian, but by now I don't think it's interesting for the problem I've got.
What I did was:
- install samba 3.0.0-final
- copy the old smb.conf file to the path in the new system

100% CPU eaten -- tdb_fetch failed
Hello,
From time to time Samba 3.0.2 performance suddenly fails bellow
what is acceptable.
One smbd process eats between 30% and 100% of CPU usage, and
for the machine associated with the smbd process i got
dozens of (debug level 2):

create mode = 0700
read only = yes
printable = yes
path = /var/spool/samba

Newbie to 3.0.1 and having problems
I have just upgraded from samba 2.2.7a to 3.0.1. For this upgrade I backed up my old
samba installation, installed the new configuration and copied over the contents of
the private directory which was secrets.tdb and smbpasswd. I ran testparm and
everything seemed fine so I run samba and H drives come back up perfectly.
I think I have 3 issues:
