Hello. I believe that I've done my due diligence in researching what info. is currently available on this issue. I have been jacking with this for days, & believe that I have tried all possible solutions. I am basically trying to move a [Merant] PVCS installation from an OS/2 file server to a SuSE/Samba file server. This installation consists of 'standard' source archives,

Understanding NT Groups and UNIX Permissions with Samba Shares
Hello, I am having some problems understanding a few concepts in Samba while trying to use samba-common-3.0.0-14.3E, samba-client-3.0.0-14.3E and samba-3.0.0-14.3E on RHE 3.0. Basically, I have security = domain. My system is running winbind, I've added the winbind calls to nsswitch.conf. I can get my wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g commands to show me what I want. That all seems happy. I have a

L.S. I've some problems on a couple of my samba servers. The servers running CentOS release 5 with samba-3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4 The config is pretty standard, not much special in it. call_nt_transact_ioctl: Currently not implemented.
Hello, we run samba 2.0.6 on Solaris2.6 and use it together with clearcase (version 3.2.1). Sometimes the checkout of files from a clearcase NT-client hangs and probably causes clearcase to destroy the viewstore. In the samba logfile of that client I found the following message: [2000/02/17 09:29:49, 0] smbd/nttrans.c:call_nt_transact_ioctl(2401) call_nt_transact_ioctl: Currently not

Slow Samba
I am running a Snap 4200 fileserver, which is a network appliance that uses Samba to share files on a windows network. I've been experiencing slow performance on the Snap. The issue started suddenly 5 to 6 weeks ago, so I don't think it's a performance-related problem. I SSHed into the unit and noticed some odd errors in the samba event logs. They look something like this:

Samba 4 permissions error
Hello guys. I have a Zentyal 4.2 server which runs Samba 4.3.5 and ACLs for every share. It's currently working fine, no isssues, everyone can access their folders without problems. I've built a Samba 4.3.5 server in a different host which is not a Zentyal server. I've configured this 2nd server as DC. Once a day I run a script to synchronize all shares from my Zentyal to this Samba
