Linux -> Windows Server2003 Leaves Open Files...
I was hoping the Samba experts on this list can help me with an irritating issue... I have an issue with Windows file servers (Server2003) thinking that files are open with they are not. The problem occurs when one or more linux servers using smbfs mounts under FedoraCore4 opens the same file(s) at the same time. This test script can exhibit the issue: # CAREFUL to kill this after a few

An even more strange win95 browsing problem
Hi, I posted a few messages a couple of days ago about a strange windows 95 browsing problem with samba-2.0.2, 1.9.17p4 that none of our Windows 95 users can see our Linux shares, but all NT users can see the Linux shares, and all 95 and NT users can see AIX shares. All of our Linux and AIX use the save version of samba (I tested 2.0.2 and 1.9.17p4). Yesterday, I tried to down grade the version

Win2K. Raw CUPS printing, driver download
Using Debian Sarge, samba, CUPS, and an HP G85 mutifunction with HPOJ to use the G85 USB connection, I've been able to get raw printing to work, and Point 'n' Print driver download to work, but not at the same time. The driver download was a chore, because of HP's proprietary install program. Had to install the driver locally to get the needed files and copy them manually to the

Closing sessions and smbstatus
Hi, When are client sessions closed? Let me explain what I'm trying to do... we're in a School district and we try to stop kids logging more than once. They way I did this before was to dump the active sessions from our previous Server2003 fileserver into a file once a minute and process it with a Perl script to check who was connected from where, rebooting machines remotely as

remove columns containing all zeros (or other value)
Hello- I would like to remove the columns of a matrix that contain all zeros. For example, from x<-matrix(c(1,5,3,2,1,4,0,0,0), ncol=3,nrow=3) I would like to remove the third column. However, because this is in a loop I need a way to first determine which columns are all zeros, and only then remove them. I.e., I don't know which column of x contains all zeros until after x is

Can't maintain a connection to the Server 2003 ADS on a subdomain
Hello to every Samba expert out there, We've been having a hard time figuring out a particular problem with Samba. After joining the Server 2003 ADS, which is on a different subnet - just going through a router, the membership would drop all of a sudden. Everything works great when the Samba server is on the same subnet as the Server 2003 ADS. I have posted some details on forums, here is a

ast_queue_log to mysql asterisk < 1.4 ?
I know in v1.6 its part of logger.c but I noticed this: https://issues.asterisk.org/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=11625 However, it doesn't seem to ever been applied to any version of 1.4.x branch.. Nor can I figure out what it was applied to? This is over 3 years old, you would of figured it would have been applied to 1.4 at some point in time.. Any ideas?

Auth problem with AD member server
I am having trouble with certain versions of Windows accessing shares provided by our Samba (3.0.24) servers which are AD members (Windows Server 2003 AD Controller). The problem seems to be with the hyphen in the domain name; if a (domain) user of XP, Server2003, or Linux accesses a share, everything works. If a domain user on Vista or Windows7 tries to access the same share (same user as
