uiddir mailbox format with benchmarks
I cleaned up the lib-storage code a bit so that it's easier to write support for new mailbox formats. It could still use a bit of cleaning up. Anyway, I thought I'd try how easy it would be to implement Cyrus-like mail store which would consist of only Dovecot's index files and "<uid>." message files. Flags and everything else is kept only in Dovecot's index files

Benchmarking CVS HEAD vs. v1.0
Some new features in CVS HEAD are: - v1.0 saves most of the data to dovecot.index.cache only when the client is FETCHing the messages. With mboxes the message headers are saved while parsing the mbox, which is almost the same thing. With CVS HEAD the dovecot.index.cache file is updated already when the new messages are being saved (with deliver or IMAP APPEND). This avoids reading the message

Zimbra benchmarking
Now that I have a working kvm setup, I thought I'd finally try how Zimbra works. This is mainly some microbenchmarking, so it may not have much to do with actual performance in real life. Setup: - 1GB memory given to kvm (from host's 2GB) - Intel Core 2 6600 (kvm uses only one CPU) - CentOS 5 - 15GB qcow2 image on XFS filesystem - Zimbra 5.0 RC2 RHEL5 x86_64 - Dovecot latest hg,

Index file rewrite status
The biggest problem with getting v1.0 out was getting its index file code stable. v1.1 plans included doing large changes to the index file code, so it's important to get the new code stable as soon as possible. Since I've managed to stay pretty productive for the last few weeks, I've been mostly just coding the index changes. Once I'm sure that the code is again fully working

Single sign on with SambaPDC and web server
We are using SambaPDC-LDAP and we have a Web Interface using PHP to our database. I have asked our developer to come up with a way to use the password stored in LDAP so we would have the same login throughout our site. He told me that after a day of looking he couldn't figure out how to translate the Username and Password into the SambaNTPassword or the LM password on the LDAP server.

SambaBDC cannot join SambaPDC
I have set up a Samba PDC migrating from NT4. I can logon computers and users that came from the old NT4 domain. I began setting up a SambaBDC following the directions in Section 5.5 of Samba3 by Example. Using samba3.0.20b on RHEL4 whenever try # net rpc join -U root%secret or # net rpc join -S SAMBAPDC -U root%secret I get the following error

Terminal Server entries in SambaPDC
Hello, is it possible to modify Terminal Server entries like 'Terminal Server Profile Path' and 'Terminal Server Home Directory' with 'pdbedit'? In case of 'yes', idd like to know the syntax. In case of 'no', can it be done otherwise (except for the usermanager in Windows)? Thanks in advance, Frank van Kruijl

mystery "158"
Well, ?factor does not say anything about this behaviour (assigning numeric code instead of level of factor). And actually if you do assignment for whole vector the result is different (vector in data frame is changed to factor). > temp2$fff[1]<-vec[1] > head(temp2,2) pokus minuty fff 1 T42 240 3 2 T42 300 <NA> > temp2$fff<-vec > head(temp2,2) pokus

Benchmarking auth
Hello, I'm attempting to use imaptest to test auths/sec on my imap server, to simulate the number I'm getting now on a new server. Based on my readings of dovecot stats outputs, my current machine is doing somewhere between 11.6 and 196 logins/sec at its busiest, and I want to make sure the new server can handle that amount. With imaptest I attempt to simulate this by just simulating

Windows 2003 Joins SambaPDC but cant login
I have a Samba as Primary Domain Controller, and a Windows 2003 Server machine that joins to the Domain, but when i reboot i cant log in. I receive a message like: Cant login, the Doiman Controller is not avaiable or unreachable. Thus i cant login to the domain. I know the win2003 machine can see the Samba Machine 'cause i can use the shares, it is not a problem of the users, i have added and

Dovecot imaptest on RHEL4/GFS1, RHEL6/GFS2, NFS and local storage results
We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results, notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local storage. Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent in a node, we will

Imap - Loging
Hello List, i'm looking for a way to increase log-level for imap-processes. Pop3 Server writes all necessary infos about mails-transfered/deleted etc. Imap-Log writes just times and ip's of Userlogins. Is there a way to increase the imap-output? The Conf-Parameters i found did not really fit my requirements. Best result would be a collected log of transfering/deleting mails for one

After some problems with codecs I could successfully connect to server by: guest@192.168.0.1 Next I created account at iaxtel.com and configured iaxcomm to work with this account. Unfortunately after that I had problem with logging as guest. Calling as guest@192.168.0.1 tried to connect with my local server through. So I changed it

Loging agents in
While working with agents I've noticed something strange. The agent log in function asks for the username of the agent, checks the configured agent, if it exists it asks for the password, if it doesn't it asks for the username again. Wouldn't it be more secure to ask for both things and then check them without showing the callee if the username or the password or both were wrong ?
