encoding/decoding example
Hello ,
I saw that in open source projects which use speex , like sweep and
linphone ,
(there are links in speex website to these projects) the encoding/decoding
process is done using vorbis/ogg.
(The encoded files which are produced has , for example, "ogg" header).
Is there anywhere examples using speex library for encoding and decoding
raw files with no "ogg" header?

nmbd quitting
I just can't find the answer to solve this issue and I thought someone would
know the answer. Finally got SWAT running and configuring a clean smb.conf
file. If I try to start nmbd or smbd, they load for a few seconds and then
quit.
log.nmb (etc/var/log/samba/) has the following;

Icecast2 Beta 1 hijacks CPU
I'm running Icecast 2 Beta 1 which satisfies my needs - high quality audio
serving @ reasonably low bitrates.
The problem is however that it tends to hog the CPU resources after having
run for like a day/day and a half. Source and client connections fail when
this happens.
I'm using psmon to monitor icecast (respawn when it dies or kill/respawn
when it starts to eat CPU).
I use

Basically I'm trying to learn how to use Linux and Icecast/Icesource
simultaniously. I got everything complied and installed. (Going to recompile
Icesource now that I know what LAME is.) However I tried running the Icecast
server I have installed just to see it would work. Using the default
complied prefs, it loads me to the admin console. Cool. But when I try to

Ogg streams on MacOSX
This comes from the Indymedia global audio list. How about setting up a
software page on icecast.org with a list of players that work properly?
Many players on vorbis.com will only play files on a hard drive, not
streaming files, such a list would be very helpful towards promoting Ogg
as a useful streaming format.

I am trying to set up Samba as a PDC on our network and having some

working off of it. I get the following message when trying to do a gpresult

Music on hold, Call Parking, etc
Ok, this falls under the newbie category:

I have found sample config files for musiconhold, but I'm not sure how they
