gem installation issues
hi all, This may seem trivial and stupid to the experts , but i have been at it for over 2 weeks and all answers got from forums did not help with resolving the issue. Even using cygwin didn''t help , i get the same errors. I''m working on a windows- rails combination and am trying trying to setup an existing application which uses a plethora of gems. I''m done with about

Sync passwd and smbpasswd
I am having problems setting up the smbpasswd command to sync the /etc/passwd and $SAMBAHOME/private/smbasswd files. My passwd program (/usr/bin/passwd %u) doesn't seem to want to wait around for smbpasswd to send it a second password for confirmation. I am running Solaris 2.5.1 (103640-23) on an Ultra 2300 and using Samba 1.9.18p10 compiled with gcc 2.8.1. I thought that I had this running

my_vsnprintf crash on HP-UX
Hi, sorry for the double post, I stupidly composed this as a reply to an earlier mail, which causes it to appear in an older thread. Posting again so it doesn't get lost in the archives: dovecot 1.1.7 reliably crashes every time I try to open a mailbox using IMAP. Error in the logs: dovecot: Dec 02 23:14:15 Error: setmntent(/etc/mtab) failed: No such file or directory dovecot: Dec 02

Having problem getting Asterisk to work on CentOS 7
Thank you Tzafrir. I had been using different users in earlier attempts to make this work. Decided to try everything where root is the only user, simply to verify it's working. For problem 2, where asterisk is writing to the log but doesn't seem to receive the SIP packets even though tcpdump indicates they are making it to the box on 5060, I am starting asterisk while logged in as root.

Segmentation Fault when using dig, nslookup, host...
I have setup Centos-3.1 on a Dell Optiplex GX1 this week. It has to replace an old Compaq Deskpro I used as a firewall/router running the no longer supported RedHat 7.1. I have the NAT firewall up and running, and it works OK. However, there is one thing bugging me. I cannot use any client software that queries a nameserver. I tried to use "dig", "host" and

OpenSSH 3.9p1 X11 forwarding
Hi, We upgraded from 3.7.1p2 to 3.9p1. The behaviour of the X11 forwarding changed significantly, it is much slower. See below the truss output (server side which runs 3.7.1p2) an check for the timestamp (6 seconds delay). Do you have any idea what may causes this behaviour? Platform is Solaris 5.9 Generic_117171-05. Thanks in advance, Andy Kocher 19279: 9.5463 sigaction(SIGCLD,

[PATCH] lib: direct, uml: Unblock SIGTERM in the hypervisor and recovery processes (RHBZ#1460338).
If SIGTERM is blocked in the main program, then it ends up still being blocked in the subprocess after we fork. This means that we cannot kill qemu by sending SIGTERM to it. This commit fixes the problem by unblocking SIGTERM unconditionally after fork. Thanks: wtfuzz on IRC for reporting and analysis. --- lib/launch-direct.c | 15 +++++++++++++++ lib/launch-uml.c | 11 +++++++++++ 2 files

openssh connection hangs upon shell exit
I am using an openSSH server on a privately built distribution. I am can login with an interactive session, use scp and everything is fine except that when I exit the shell of an interactive session or when the copy transfer terminates (scp), sshd hangs forever. The shell process is in the zombie state, which indicates that the openssh process for the connection has not checked the child status.

[RFC/PATCH LGUEST X86_64 07/13] lguest64 loader
plain text document attachment (lguest64-loader.patch) I noticed that the lguest loader code for i386 was in Documentation/lguest. Well, that's fine (I guess) but it can't just be for i386. So I made a separate directory to put the loader code in. So now we have: Documentation/lguest/i386/... for the lguest i386 loader. and Documentation/lguest/x86_64/... for the lguest x86_64
